Hi,
I am very sad because it is April and in June or June 17th it is the last time I might have until I have to stop seeing my therapist. What makws me more sad is that this week I met with a new therapist to try her out. I love the session and especially I could turn off my voice and sign to her. I am losing hearing so I can do ASL and still learning. She sign back to and talk at the same time. It was sooo cool to be able to sign because it is hard to verbalize my feelings and signing it was so easy, just like writing or texting.
But what is sad she might be only allow to see me for 34-36 weeks or a bit longer because where she works got a grant to be abe to do this. I am in need of longer term therapy and she would be the best fit in my eyes. My hearing lost will progress and now it is in both ears. She said that she will talk to her supervisor and see if there is anything can be done. When she told me that I excused myself and moved away so she could not see me and I cried. We were having session from Zoom. I felt so sad and thought what the use. This are so crazy and now this. The good thing is I live alone and has very little support to none that me been sad and crying I does not have to verbalized what wrong.
Sometimes I feel like if I disappear I would not be missed nor noticed that I am not around. The only good thing is my session with my current therapist was really good (it was not for a few weeks now). Anyways that is why I am sad. I have to fight very hard and pray not to get angry or bitter or hateful but life stink.

Good luck. I hope you feel better soon.
Thanks for the info. I am in FL but I emailed them,
I’m sorry you’re feeling so sad.
I really related when you wrote that how you have to fight very hard and pray not to get angry or bitter or hateful because how life is, I feel like that as well.
I’m glad that your current therapist was good & I hope moving forward something good happens for you.
Sending lots of support your way
Big hug <3
I had to because my job folded where I lived in the USA's Midwest. The college where I taught then had its endowment hit hard in the 2008 financial crisis, nothing personal. I had to move to the USA's East Coast to find work at the community college where I teach now.
It was hard to end my relationship with that one Midwestern pdoc who finally got after 12 years of other docs with whom I didn't have that close connection. When I moved here to the East Coast for work, I had no reason in my PTSD therapy track record to believe it wouldn't be another 12 years before I got a pdoc with that kind of close connection again.
But instead of having to wait for 12 years for another close pdoc, it turned out that I've had my second good PTSD pdoc for the last 9 years instead.
Glad you posted about it here now so you wouldn't have to ride out this transition alone. When I remember my own transition from my Midwestern pdoc to this one I have now here on the East Coast, I can imagine how bad that feels for you right now. It sucks when financial issues like my former college going broke or the grant supporting your pdoc interfere with our PTSD recovery. I really does.
We're with you. You're not alone in this. I joined this group at DS PTSD at that very time to help get me through. It worked. Keep posting here about this so maybe it can work for you, too, ok?
Thanks, I appreciate it. It is hard to open up to new people even a new therapist that is why I wish to stay with current. My therapist is been patience with me at this time
Thanks I appreciate it. I am having a hard time signing and emailing the consent for my current therapist to speak to the new therapist. Yet the new therapist can only see me for a year or a year plus then I have to transfer again, hopefully to a therapist long term. I does not like this process but it is not a good situation that I am in and there is nothing can be done.
In July I am going to be on both Medicare and Medicaid. My current therapist only take Medicaid which mean that by June 17th I have to transfer from her. But I will not be able to see any therapist until July when Medicare become primary.
The therapist who is new is grant funded therefore I can see her only for a year or a year plus. My current therapist painted a pic where it is the best to go with this current therapist because if I wait until June and July comes around she will be sad that I did not connect with someone. Plus my current therapist painted a pic that I does not know what a year or year plus with this new therapist can hold. She list things like I will grow more because this therapist is using ASL which is best for me because sometimes I does not want to talk. She also stated that no one know but within a year so many things could changed and I might have more opportunity then now plus I will get a change to learn about medicare and medicaid works.
What my current stated seems fair and wise and so I decided to stay and the new therapist for a year or a year plus BUT, there is a but. The other things is I am becoming sick over this and the new therapist want me to tell my current therapist and I did and she did not respond ( I think because she already knew that). I understand that my therapist want me to focus on the positive side of what might happen and I do know it is a difficult task because I does not have much choose BUT.
I have no real feeling with this process or arrangement (New therapist) but I think I does not want to feel and is just in a what ever mood. Anyways thanks.
She may be able to refer you to some peer support to add to the therapy and who know what may be available after a year
I was in a cognitive support group years ago for about a year and it helped me a great deal
Big hug..... I hope that it's going to help you a great deal.....xo
