Suffering and questioning a rough night. Even though I was felt tired and sleepy layed in bed with my thoughts for nearly 2 and 1/2 hours. Tried calming myself, deep breathing just trying to clear my head of the thoughts running through them. They seemed to be speeding through and not all related to each other, some for from events years ago. Even thought I was talking to my wife yet she past over 5 years ago. Finally drifted off , but was awake an hour later and the process started all over again. Finally drifted off into a good sleep arond 4 in the morning. Therapist says I am doing all the right things and sees progress, but events like last night happen I begin to have doubts. The trigger may have been going to a christmas function and having so many people ask about my recent operation. Felt drained, so much so I left early, but it was good to be out. So confused.

I haven't written in my diary on my computer since May because I thought that my computer was dying. I got away from writing but my computer is hanging in there. I think that I will start writing in it again. It's so therapeutic.

First, I hope everyone is doing well, and continuing to fight that good fight! Keep up the great work on yourselves; I'm rooting for all of you!So, I started doing therapy at the beginning of the year, when I was in my most depressed state, but with my therapist, I made big changes and steps in the right direction. But, over a month ago, she couldn't take my insurance anymore, and I had to stop...
How are you feeling today?
But my Christmas plans to get away to Mexico just went up in smoke from a phone call I got from my surgeon's nurse yesterday about my surgery Dec. 3. I made my Christmas plans in August not knowing I'd have this surgery on Dec. 3, so when I found out two weeks ago I'd be having it I still clung to the hope I'd make it to Mexico for Christmas anyway. Now I was told last night that was a fantasy.
Christmas is hard for me, as are all holidays, since I followed my therapist's advice and ended contact with my abusive family. Just talking to them was feeding my PTSD all the time, amping it up. But I'm all alone now, like you are after your wife's passing that you mentioned.
I can relate to your talking to her still after five years, because I talk out loud to people from my past when I'm alone, too. Hey, it helps, so people can call it crazy, but whatever works. I'm with you, waz.
