The studio is far enough along that I am beginning to feel the pinch of over-exposure and isolation. A natural hazard of working where you sleep in a fixed location. Still not far enough along to get the show back on the road. Sigh. Still not doing so well at inviting other humans in. Don't know if I will ever master that hurdle. The motivation for that one still lives in Shouldsville.
The studio sits on the rim of a major watershed. Hill country watersheds are a force of nature which have fascinated me since before I took my first hike through one about 40 years ago. I have since hiked almost every watershed in Central Texas. That is ALLOT of watersheds and familiarity really does breed contempt in my PTSD warped brain. I have not been hiking any of them consistently in the years I have bee treating Texas like the world's biggest spirit trap.
Recent rains have renewed the natural drama within the watersheds. I have been goading myself to get down there with my camera and photograph some of the rushing drama. Wondering if I should invest in rain gear since the highest drama happens during the storms.
Just a rambling update...

I did the dumbest thing today. I charged my earbuds, unplugged the block and put the block in my little bag instead of the earbuds. I wasn't happy about that when I got to the gym. What a dummy!

Ever since I stopped doing therapy because of insurance, I've been feeling that old tense and irritable sense of anxiety and stress. I hate that. I was making so many strides and changes during therapy, my therapist would acknowledge all of my progress and accomplishments, and I miss that reassurance. Today I thought about it, and I made those changes! She would always tell me that I chose to...
Still nice, though. Lucky for me I am tough enough to handle a 200 yard hike.
Lifesavers won't help you in a hill country watershed. Those runoff waters run fast and hard enough to crush a truck against the limestone walls. The dirt on the trails is shallow enough to slide out from under your feet when it is wet. The best lifesaver is a careful eye.
I worry more about protecting camera gear from the rain. I am wash and wear. I was designed to take it. Cameras and electronic gizmos aren't so tough.
Enjoy... would love to see some pics!
Anyway, just as a consolation, since you went on to talk about Texas and its terrain, youd be the person to send this link to the song "Texas" to. Its obviously about a Texas of the mind, but I figure thats ok here on DS PTSD with the minds we have here.

For now I'll just have to keep to the familiar trails of Texas. I find it kinda sad that I no longer need a road map to navigate the 2nd largest state in the union. A state that is bigger than most the countries of the world.
Poor me.
It's all gone crazy
So I'm going to Texas
We got to get out of here/Texas
the only place to be/Big steaks, no trouble there
That's the place for me. Texas (take my PTSD)
