So, when I was in school, they wanted to give me experience in the working world.......(I was involved in a workshop program at schoool in my teen years) they would give You credit for being out in the community working......and the best part, not being in scool!!
Those were, SamGoody (a record store) It was in the mall,
and volunteering at a hospital..........both of which My "friends" dad got for me (the one with the mentally ill son) For coming over to my house, and letting his son come and verbully assult me
and letting him take stuff from me, and shame and hummiliate me......His dad felt bad for all that....And I think as "a sorry about that" He got me those/that job.
I know I should be greatfull, and I am, but still hurts to think about, and I feel betrayed
Also, when I was in school, I went on a workcrew, one of them was a retirement home for nuns ( they lived in deplorible conditions, and staff didn't even give a shit) hated that place anyway.
Another workcrew I went on, was with a sheltered "workshop" one time, I went to a sinagog I get up the stairs to go back to class, and I physically got sick (weather it was anxiety, or just nerves)
When I got out of school, I worked at staples for probably 6 mounths. Then I got a job at a university, in between staples a the university, I was sent to a sheltered "workshop" Places like that are for the disabled......But, more so people who can't or don't want to work out in the workforce, allso, They work with SSI/SSDI, so they don't get paid minimum wage.
I think Places like that are for people who just don't understand the world (don't get me wrong, they are very nice people) more intelecual and other mental issues.
I know the world around me, and can thrive in it, I just never felt I belonged......It's society giving the disabled the middle finger, and saying, "You don't belong" But, like I said, some of them probably the majority of them would rather be there, then even retire. I just never liked it, felt like I didn't belong.

Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.

i'm gypsy. as a gypsy, i know that feeling of not belonging, all to well. by my gypsy upbringing, none of us belong here. "we are on one road and we're only passing through." ~leonard cohen

I know how my friends mentally ill brother feels, He feel's like he doesn't belong either.
When my Friend and I were younger, we used to to an orchred and used to jump in hay-bails. and used to go mcdonald's play land, her brother used to try, their mother had to remind him that he was to big,
he couldn't do that anymore (he's ten year's older then us) Gotta be frustrating for him, and the family to make him understand.
Because, he does get confused.
I'm still mad at them for bringing him over to my house, bitching and yelling incoherent gibberish at me, cause being older he felt like he had to be right, and letting take stuff from me.
That's why I unfriended his father and sister on facebook, his father letting his son come over, and bitch at me, and his sister, kept on posting pics of him (her facebook profile, she can do what she want's) Just too many flashbacks.
I was talking to my mother about all this shit......she told me, I'd probably never see this guy again.
But, anyway, I do forgive the family, and wish them all well, I just really don't care to see them again.
Their son took great pride that he was older then someone, And people had to like what he did, and that he could U how to do stuff, But, didn't understand himself.
So, me being at that sheltered "workshop" and feeling like I didn't belong........I know how he feels.
But, like I said, someone like him, would rather be at these sheltered "workshops" then retire.......So, I guess he feels like he belongs.......I never did.
Thanks for listening.
