Question: The Flashback Perception

During my current rounds of flashbacks, a baby crying at his mother's closed door and the same baby crying at morbidly obese knees with a tall, skinny guy doing what he can on the side has been triggering a vicious round of flashbacks to my childhood, circa 1956 to 1965.
During an exchange with my most beloved sis tonight, I blurted the analogy that it is like watching two movies on a single television. I can't see either picture or hear either soundtrack clearly. The more I think on it, the more I think the analogy fits.
Hoping for feedback from those of you who have had this experience. Good analogy? Does it make sense? Reality checks welcome.

I did the dumbest thing today. I charged my earbuds, unplugged the block and put the block in my little bag instead of the earbuds. I wasn't happy about that when I got to the gym. What a dummy!

Ever since I stopped doing therapy because of insurance, I've been feeling that old tense and irritable sense of anxiety and stress. I hate that. I was making so many strides and changes during therapy, my therapist would acknowledge all of my progress and accomplishments, and I miss that reassurance. Today I thought about it, and I made those changes! She would always tell me that I chose to...

Just sorting. . .
I know *exactly* what that is like! I try to tell hubby it's like listening to overlapping radio stations, but I like your analogy better. I just can't get the "screen" to focus on just one damn reality at a time, is how it feels.
GEntlest support. I have found that my best strategy is to go into hiding in a blanket tent where some soft sensory deprivation and seclusion help me minimize input. But that's me. I'm an odd one, as I'm often told.
Gentle healing, Arfie.

I isolate like a bad dog when these --can I call them overlays?-- happen. One of my shrinks sub-texted me as, "claustrophobic." She defined it as a fear of entrapment. Small spaces, I can handle, as long as I have a reason, such as hiding. Entrapment of any flavor sets me snapping and/or running like a Tasmanian devil. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iyvPjn2m240
