Thank you, everybody!! I'm so excited to see things work out this way, too, for my boss to have such heart, for my union rep to have such heart, too. With PTSD we've often seen the dark, heartless side of human nature, it's so good to be able to report to everybody that I witnessed help for PTSD and that people can have good hearts toward those of us that have it. I'm so grateful. It was scary. What a great outcome. Thank you for your support in my taking this risk to push for this wonderful thing to happen.

I honestly don't think that managers want to mess up people's lives. They just want to get their job done in the most expedient way possible. Thus pointing out the problem and solution at the same time achieves the goal. (I bet the other prof would really like the extra money from teaching the class too...)

Yeah, I agree, most managers just want to, well, manage. Not mess things up. Along those lines, my boss ran my schedule for next semester by me (and the VP and HR head, too, now that I've called for ADA accommodation legally). It was another normal schedule, not an overload. Ahhh, relief. :-)
