Like many learning disabled children, I struggled mightily with pronouns. No matter the language. He, she, it, his, hers, its, mine, theirs, ours, etc., etc. Even at my current linguistic prowess, the list is too long and tedious to list without a fat paycheck to compensate for the tedium. Even in a single language.
Grammatically, I am a poster girl for what a stuttering dyslexic can accomplish. Yay me. Mail my trophy to your favorite landfill, please.
Therapeutically, I am pretty convinced pronouns are still getting me into trouble. Millions of light lovers did not set up kiddie porn sets in the basement. THEY were only my daddy and his buddies. Only.
Millions of secret Santa's did not bring super secret Santa gifts every year. THEY were only the weak men and women my daddy had a talent for spotting. THEIR civic groups did not come back with THEM.
Etc., etc., through the phantoms of my cPTSD. I am increasingly convinced it is important to keep my pronouns well defined.
Am I making sense or am I fissuring again? I AM still hypo-manic...
Working to keep my steps small and manageable.

I only cope with the parts that make most of the world grateful they are not me... Very few attendees of the pity parties can even recognize the compensations. Nature is a GREAT compensator. Her mystery is vast.
Pronouns are certainly a way of making clear distinctions regarding who is responsible for what, and helping us avoid polarized dark and light thinking.
We need to use them to make accurate inferences about the probability of current events compared to past ones. So I like your linguistic approach to management - another tool for your PTSD tool box.
I have a problem with nouns. It is linked to the mental fog that settles in at times as a symptom of a physical ailment I have. I know what something is, but can't always bring forth it's name - when needed, like, for example, something with a sturdy handle about a foot long and a metal part and you hit things with....

Good luck with the hypo-mania you mention having. In that last two days I seem to recall your writing here about its passing. Congrats for staying in touch through it all.
