Took three at home pregnancy tests that all said I was pregnant. Went to my family doctor yesterday to do a blood test to confirm the results but I can't stop worrying. If I am pregnant it's okay, I'm just scared what impact PTSD has on a pregnancy. I'm supposed to find out later today or tomorrow afternoon at the latest what the results are.
Because of my experiences I've been a firm believer that I didn't want to have kids just because I didn't want to bring kids into the world knowing full well how hard of a place the world can be. I've warmed up to the possibility of having kids in the last few months.
I'm surprised and scared because if I'm not in control, that's a huge trigger for me. Therapy I've been doing has just Gotten to the part where we are discussing my experiences and it is emotionally draining. PTSD gives you mood swings by definition so I'm afraid hormones will just intensify my other PTSD symptoms..
Please anyone give me any advice you have. I may be worrying prematurely but I just want to be prepared.

You are very wise to consider the fact that your own outlook on the world will affect any children you have. I didn't even think of that, and in hindsight (my daughter is 25), it really did affect her. To me, the world is a dangerous place. Cognitively, I know not everyone sees it that way, but being on "high alert" all the time can naturally affect your children.
So all I can think is taking good care of yourself and doing anything you can to get help for the PTSD will be very important to you and any family you ever create. Caring for them is only part; caring for yourself is vital to them. Not talking about "being fixed" or "reaching perfection"- nobody does that. Finding peace for yourself, will be important.
You can't really predict what all pregnancy or PTSD will effect. Just keep on taking care of yourself.
Hormone issues in pregnancy can vary significantly from pregnancy to pregnancy, even for same individual. Take things one step at a time.
You don't need to be perfect to be a good parent, just trying you best. My experience is if you are struggling, as the child grows they will learn to keep trying too- you will be a role model of perseverance.
In all seriousness-- It was the one and only time in my life that I trusted my body to know what to do...so I focused on just letting it...and it was beautiful.
