Good morning everyone. I'm sitting here deer hunting. I had a nightmare that woke me up at 4am. So here I sit hoping a buck comes by me. Thanks to everyone that replied yesterday. I really needed the support. Hoping everyone has a great day

Hey, you remind me, Mac, that it's time for me to take a little drive to the state park I go to where I sit in the woods by a pond for my "forest bath" to calm my PTSD. I've not mentioned it in our posts yet so I want to come clean that I don't go hunting like you do (and like I used to) because I don't have the confidence to be with a weapon any more and feel safe with myself. I'm paying attention, then, to how you're stepping out to do it as a role model for me. I've got a good friend who is a deer hunter who would take me if I said I was ready. I do hope you're feeling good being out there, my friend, you're teaching me what's possible in our PTSD recovery.

I feel just ok. If I didn't wake up when I did I don't know if I would be here. I have until Sunday evening to get a buck. I have let some does walk by earlier this week. I don't have a Doe permit anyway.

In my world, 4 am is one of the better times to spot a deer, among many other fascinating critters. Was that a nightmare or the call of the wild? Seems to me that the call of the wild is easier to hear when all the civilized folks are asleep or drunk.

My ex's family's camp has an old apple tree on it, as well as chestnuts. In other words...yearly gathering spot. More than once we pulled in only to breakup the herd that was partying there.
