Happy Holidays to all. I'm blessed to not have Christmas horror memories. I remember the sadness, but it was a good sadness. My father was gone.

I have a little tree up, on a table, with LED lights at the tips. It's lovely in the dark. Last evening my homemaker and I got it up.

There are few presents under the tree, but all loved and appreciated. Stuff from kids, drawings and wrapped things. Then I have peanut butter (to go with my apples, which I love together), body cream, face soap, food, a calendar, a puzzle book. Other stuff I haven't looked at. Nothing from family. Stuff from people who are trying to make my life feel better. And it does.

Peace on earth. We could do with it. We can do it.

I'm glad my Christmas Eve posting resonated. It's a story not so easy to tell elsewhere because the bad of the first half often distracts other listeners from the happy ending. But not here. How special it is to have friends here who understand!

It was a good Christmas Day. Spent it with the family of a student who's a cancer survivor, someone who had surgery over Thanksgiving. She was prayed for and/or sent healing thoughts by people here at DS PTSD. She knows it, too, and thanks you all.

Another person who struggled, she with cancer, but who also had a Happy Christmas. Bless DS PTSD!

I lived in DC, and just love the city.

They have the BEST BOOKSTORES, lol.
Maybe there is a travelling exhibition at the Corcoran, or somewhere else.

At the Corcoran I saw the Russian crown jewels from Peter The Great, and down the line. The 19th century originals had unfortunately been sold by the State for hard currency. You know, how can you have a Dictatorship of the Proletariat if you have no Proletariat, just peasants?

I was slackjawed. Wow, what an honour it was to be in the presence of these incredible treasures. Too see them up close.

Check out what's going on around town if you've got some free time. And think of me, because I'm stuck in a hamlet on the Canadian Prairie and would have loved to be there and not here...

Thanks for encouraging my DC behavior. I love the place, and I have only been exploring it little by little for 2 years. Many more ahead. I live for good bookstores, so if you want to name one, say in Georgetown, feel free.

For me having moved from the Midwest, there's something East Coast New Yorkish about it, and yet Southern. I can't put my finger on it, but I like it.

Thanks for the Corcoran tip. As DC's a city of museums, it's hard to be selective. I hitchhiked as a youth from London to Paris just to see the Impressionists up close, so I'll be there. I live 2 hours away, so I can bounce in and out at will. So lucky.

Be warm in your Canadian Hamlet. Reminds me of the Canadian Bruce Cockburn's song Coldest Night of the Year.
