Perhaps this is in the wrong support group but i dont know anywhere else too post this.
I have never been diagnosed with PTSD, since i really visit the doctor, but over my life time which has beennearly 20 years i have been through some hellish events that i have never told anyone about. Ive tried to forget them or cover them up with other events and at first it seemed to work but they have come back to taught me. The visuals and memories especially arise when im taking a bath or shower they sometimes apprear like a slideshow presentation flashing still shots one slide after the next until i can no longer take it, other times its voices of the people or even that caused me pain and sometimes its a mix of the two. Often times too and more frequently now it happens as im laying down trying to go to sleep.
Is anyone else like this or is it only me?? :/

I dearly wish I could divide my memory functions in to 'good" and "bad" folders and drop a nuclear bomb into the "bad" folder. Without damaging the good stuff, of course.
I believe my own PTSD is made up of that very drive. Unfortunately, at our neural pathway level, a memory is just a memory. Passing judgements such as "good" or "bad" happens in a different process.
Keep posting, friend. Sharing the load is the best way I have found to sort it all out. What the pros tell you is secondary in my book. The pros I trust and respect have all told me recovery is an inside job. Nobody can do it for you.
P.S. Love the nuclear bomb theory arfie. Made my day!
Sounds like you picked the right group.
