Panicking for a silly reason

I made a mistake when I wrote my therapy appointment down. It was today and I thought it was tomorrow. He called my cell while I was driving home and I had it on silent. He left a message asking me to call him back and I did about 20 minutes later (when I discovered the message. Of course I got his voice mail and it has now been an hour and he hasn't called me back.
I make and keep appointments and handle referrals plus meetings and crisis for over 30 people and I have trouble with my own appointments. I feel bad and I get anxious between appointments as it is.
He had time to call me before his next appointment. I don't know...maybe he went out to get dinner or something came up.
I feel stupid on so many levels right now. I mean really...wtf??? I am I addicted to therapy ???
I hope he isn't angry about this. I haven't missed any before. I have came close but always caught the mistake.

I haven't written in my diary on my computer since May because I thought that my computer was dying. I got away from writing but my computer is hanging in there. I think that I will start writing in it again. It's so therapeutic.

First, I hope everyone is doing well, and continuing to fight that good fight! Keep up the great work on yourselves; I'm rooting for all of you!So, I started doing therapy at the beginning of the year, when I was in my most depressed state, but with my therapist, I made big changes and steps in the right direction. But, over a month ago, she couldn't take my insurance anymore, and I had to stop...
Having said that, I do totally understand your feelings! When it's yourself (myself) we lose all perspective and revert to the bullied child we were. Well, guess what - we are allowed to goof up from time to time - same as everyone else in the world! You're a good woman and a good patient and a reliable person and it's fine that you made a mistake.
I'm sorry.
The therapist should truly understand. It's kind of the nature of the business, sometimes.
You'll get to the next one on schedule. Don't beat yourself up over this, huh ? Haven't others/hasn't life beaten each of us up enough ??
I wish you peace, health, and strength.
I should ask him to write the appointments down for me. I put them in my planner ( I have to schedule around work stuff) but maybe I need the card too.
Hope the sharing has already helped you get back on track.
Keep on the sunny side.
I don't think it's being addicted to therapy, though, to miss the support in your routine. Let us know how we can fill in with peer support to tide you over, if we can.
Over time I learned to consolidate professionalism into the two things I mentioned...scheduling and payment. And when I have missed appointments in the past, I talked to my therapist about how that made me feel during my next session. Bottom line, professionalism in psychotherapy means being helpful and encouraging to patients at all times. I think this is a great opportunity for you to see your therapist being responsible, professional, and ethical.
You're right, they might be mad at you. But that is unprofessional and harmful to you. My advice, talk to the therapist about it. I sometimes write my therapist a letter if I'm having a lot of racing thoughts or worries. It helps me focus and let them know what I want to talk about in my next session.
