Pain trapped me today in Mexico
mujicaptsd
Today I was trapped by kidney disease nerve damage pain in my dear old Mexico. Sharp and constant pain meant I couldn't walk on my cane to leave the hotel all day today. I had two meals in. After it was frightening for a while, it got depressing, and I'm not easily depressed. Then my PTSD got triggered thinking like this about my future and I had flashbacks and a panic attack. There's just got to be a way I can tough it out to carry out my 3 year plan to retire here. But today I just couldn't. I tried.

I haven't written in my diary on my computer since May because I thought that my computer was dying. I got away from writing but my computer is hanging in there. I think that I will start writing in it again. It's so therapeutic.

Years ago, I won a mirrored armoire from my job. It's in my bedroom but I rarely stand in front of it. Yesterday, I had to have a dexascan done so I had to change into a gown. There was a full length mirror in the changing room. I'm aware that I gained 5 to 7 pounds over the last year from cheating on Keto but I didn't know what it looked like. It was a reality check.
Glad you are keeping a sense of humor about it. Laughter really is powerful medicine.
Yeah, Lilly :-) . And arfie, thanks for the tip on Guanajuato custom decorators. Ha! Yeah, imagining a tricked out scooter bullfight style has been a fun distraction to pass the time as the pain from this kidney neuropathy episode dissipates.
When I get back from vacation, I'm going to get to see stand up comedian Dave Attell perform. Funny, I found out about him through my PTSD insomnia because his Comedy Central show was called "Insomniac with Dave Attell."
You're right--laughter is the best medicine. I'm getting better, I think. I think I'm going to get out and about tomorrow.
