Pain trapped me today in Mexico
mujicaptsd
Today I was trapped by kidney disease nerve damage pain in my dear old Mexico. Sharp and constant pain meant I couldn't walk on my cane to leave the hotel all day today. I had two meals in. After it was frightening for a while, it got depressing, and I'm not easily depressed. Then my PTSD got triggered thinking like this about my future and I had flashbacks and a panic attack. There's just got to be a way I can tough it out to carry out my 3 year plan to retire here. But today I just couldn't. I tried.

I haven't written in my diary on my computer since May because I thought that my computer was dying. I got away from writing but my computer is hanging in there. I think that I will start writing in it again. It's so therapeutic.

First, I hope everyone is doing well, and continuing to fight that good fight! Keep up the great work on yourselves; I'm rooting for all of you!So, I started doing therapy at the beginning of the year, when I was in my most depressed state, but with my therapist, I made big changes and steps in the right direction. But, over a month ago, she couldn't take my insurance anymore, and I had to stop...
i hope your pain abates, and that you have no more panic attacks and flashbacks...
i hate that you had such a hard day....
gentle hugs.
I hope you can get some good sleep
I hope tomorrow is a better day for you
Being sick, alone in a hotel room is pretty high on my personal "Life Sucks" rating scale. Hope it passes soon.

Sorry not to answer this morning, but I'm still laid up in my hotel room. Re-thinking the wisdom of coming with a flared up neuropathy episode, of course.
It's a good idea, as arfie and lovelil and donna said, not to conflate this kidney disease defeat on this one trip now with the larger future topic of the possibility of this as my place for retirement in 3 years.
Would like a scooter, as Lilly suggests. When I get out and about I'll check around town here for a Mexican scooter. I'd like one with bull horns on the handle bars so I can zip down the street like a bull in a Mexican bullfighting arena.
Meanwhile, you can't drink the tap water in a hotel room in Mexico. To help with that the hotel's bell boy Diego has been good enough to make a bottled water run to the store for me while I'm laid up in my room. Yay, Diego. More solidarity.
It's tough to be sick alone in a hotel room, so your solidarity and the solidarity here of local folks like Diego really counts for a lot.
Hoping this kidney nerve damage will run its course over night. It's a bright sunny day today but nice and cool in the mountains of Mexico, a great day I'd wish to go for a walk that I could tell Rizen about. Fingers crossed I'll do that tomorrow..
