I guess this marks about 6 weeks since I was hit with the triple whammy of complications in the plumbing upgrade for The Sandbox, eldest son's bachelor break-up drama and youngest son going through emergency surgery with his wife. Youngest son has 2 kids, 2 years and 6 weeks. Hurricane Sandbox?
The good news is that the plumbing issues are resolved. The rest? Well. . . The cycles of life go on and on and on. . .
I almost count it as a miracle that the Sandbox is back up and growing. Sorta. Life is still getting in the way, and hubs and I are still egg-shelling over boundaries, but this week we are harvesting the coriander from our cilantro plants. The house smells like a holiday. Fiesta (cilantro) for my sub-tropical associates. Winter celebrations (coriander) for my snow country associates. Haven't been distilling much of the harvest, but. . . The day is still young.
Just an update.
Anybody other neat projects staying on track out there?

I did the dumbest thing today. I charged my earbuds, unplugged the block and put the block in my little bag instead of the earbuds. I wasn't happy about that when I got to the gym. What a dummy!

Ever since I stopped doing therapy because of insurance, I've been feeling that old tense and irritable sense of anxiety and stress. I hate that. I was making so many strides and changes during therapy, my therapist would acknowledge all of my progress and accomplishments, and I miss that reassurance. Today I thought about it, and I made those changes! She would always tell me that I chose to...
i'm so so glad you have this in your life, arfie.
something so grounding and tangible..
me,i'm supposed to be writing, but with this lack of sleep
even the dishes and laundry are Everest...
Hope you get to the writing, silver. That lack of sleep really does zap the energy level. I hold the writing as the better use of what little energy insomnia lets me have. It helps me sleep better. With better sleep, mountains like dishes and laundry are easier to climb. Still no fun, but at least manageable.
Is going out for a butter tart to die for considered a neat project?...smile
Ever harvested your own mustard? Mustard is a big family. Most regions have at least one wild variety to its credit and the varieties are as different as pepper varieties. Our local mustard is just past its harvest. It is mild enough to put on a kid's hot dog. The wild mustard I harvested on my last river excursion burned a hole in my tongue. I use it for mustard baths. It'll suck the toxins right through your pores. Too much will give you 1st degree chemical burns.
I sure regretted distilling for the hydro-sols and essential oils, though. Made my house smell like backed up plumbing. Not the best aromatherapy I have ever experienced. . . It was my first distillation after the recent plumbing surprises and the smell gave me a panic attack.
