Painting project update. The middle bedroom and hallway are done. I have moved on to the most complex room of the house. It is a converted garage and bonus room. It is about the size of 2 two-car garages set end to end. Laundry, music, bills and bees are the three combined activities which go on in there. This past December, we carved out space for bedroom space for hubs in order to accommodate my son and his family. Yes, the son and wife which currently have hubs and I delegated to the toxic people landfill. The are still using the master bedroom as their personal storage unit, but . . . It is what it is whether I understand it, or not. . .
The current paint project is painting over old, cheap wood paneling. I am following the cuts in the paneling with three shades of green to make stripes. I think I like it. It is a gentle eye tease. The room is so full that emptying it is feeling like more work than it would be worth. I started with the section that hubs moved in to the middle bedroom. Once I finish there, I will shift one of the other sections into the clean space and paint that section. Might go with a different stripe color scheme for the next section. The cuts of the wall kinda support the sectioning. Maybe. Got quite a few edges to cut between here and that decision.

My day...today...misplaced my debit card...didn't realize it until I got to the register after shopping to a full cart. Used a different debit card and pulled apart everything looking for missing debit card before I left parking lot. Got home, dropped keys. So now I have a missing debit card, missing keys. If my evil scheme works out, the next paint job over that paneling should be allot easier. Each and every stripe equals a minimum of two paint layers in each of those paint tricking grooves. The next paint job won't be for a while, though. I hope. The multi-color paint jobs are usually great for hiding dirt. Never done stripes before, so I can't be too sure if that will be true of this paint job.
Ah, layers of paint. I had ot primer over navy blue enamel (idiot previous owner was a dong-do-it-yourself case study).... then sponge-finished it. Time-consuming, but somehow "cleansing".... Another room, they painted metallic gold. Primer primer and... creative tonal patterns.
Painting the house was how I stayed sane in the renovation. I'm repainting my porch in a few weeks to deal with other stuff...
Stripes sound challenging. I once did stencils of tiny ivy leaves all around a sunroom. I think I'd rather deal with tape and stripes!
