My 3 time computer burn-out arrogance has been greatly amused by watching the same sisters and brothers who mocked my geek-ways fall in love with their Smart Phones and Plug and Play computer systems. Isn't it romantic? They are simply adorable when they show me how fast they can pull up whatever piece of trivia is being small-talked at the moment.
Meanwhile, I have grown increasingly irritated with the cyber-bugs the World Wide Web keeps sneezing all over my graphics studio computer. Graphics programs are still quite finicky and it is a creative drag to be forced to search for the tools that were moved in the last "upgrade." Just finished updating my surf toy (the very one I visit here on) to the newest version. I couldn't believe how many invasive Apps I had to disable during the install.
Find myself rewriting the "Happy Days" theme song. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VijD3WjREgw
"Version upgrade, Appy Days
"More bells and whistles, Appy Days
"No need to think
"We'll do it for you
"Our Apps will see you through."
Think I'll leave the chorus intact.
Just venting?

I did the dumbest thing today. I charged my earbuds, unplugged the block and put the block in my little bag instead of the earbuds. I wasn't happy about that when I got to the gym. What a dummy!

Ever since I stopped doing therapy because of insurance, I've been feeling that old tense and irritable sense of anxiety and stress. I hate that. I was making so many strides and changes during therapy, my therapist would acknowledge all of my progress and accomplishments, and I miss that reassurance. Today I thought about it, and I made those changes! She would always tell me that I chose to...
One of the volunteer efforts I have been involved in is recycling out-dated technology. It is an incredibly challenging task. My computer systems are even more of a fashion train wreck than my hairstyle.
Even my systems (from the multi-million mainframes of the 70s to the free e-toy I didn't ask for) eventually make it to the landfill. An awful lot of lead, copper, gold, silicon, etc. go with them. . .
My tree-hugger beast is rattling her cage. . .
Speaking of which, I once enjoyed a spiffy comeback from an aeronautical engineer responding to the claim that if airplane technology had been able to keep up with computers, we be able to fly around the world in 30 minutes for $2.65 by now.
"Yes," he sighed dramatically, "and the planes would stall in mid-air, make unexpected turns and land wherever some marketing exec in the home office told them to."
