On the road yet again

I wrote in a private message here about it so I thought I'd tell everybody that its come time for one last one way trip to retirement in Mexico for me so if you don't hear from me tomorrow, dont worry.  Here's what I wrote in that message:


As for me today, my life is reduced to utter simplicity at the moment as my last day renting in the US is tomorrow and my bags are packed for the airport in the morning.  Anything not in them is left behind for the landlord to take.  Today I'm still trying to get the required state inspection for sale of my car done at my car dealer's garage.  I'm writing from their waiting room right now.  They're wasting time; I don't think they get what a hard deadline like mine really is.  Oh, well.  If they don't get things done the guy buying my car will work with me anyway, he said.


The next time you hear from me on Thursday I'll be the retired resident of a new country!

Gracias, y'all! I sold my car this morning, banked the proceeds, and got on my plane in the afternoon with JOY! Wow, I had no idea I was this ready to retire, so it is a nice surprise. Of course, it will not be idle...I have 2 paid speeches to write and contracts for getting 2 Spanish authors into English. But I will be my own boss. Nice. I am changing planes in Atlanta's airport and have WiFi so I figured I would thank everybody who encouraged me to go for it and be this happy.

Oh muji, I am so very happy to read this. You did it!!! You really did it !!! Kudos for sticking to your hearts desire despite how difficult things had been sometimes during the wait for the move. Today, you are my hero <3. God speed, safe travels, many blessings~ oh yeah and triple hugs !

I know, Ev! I'm in the Mexico City airport for my last change of planes on my one way trip to retire and this is really HAPPENING! :-) I have to pinch myself to be sure I'm not dreaming! Heck, I don't mean to get cocky or anything, but not only can I survive trauma, I can be happy, too. hanks y'all for supporting me in believing to give this happiness thing a shot! :-)

Thanks, Loo, I wrote you here separately that my last flight was 2 hours late, and then there was the 1 hour cab ride from the last airport here in Mexico to my little house, so it was 2:30am before my trip ended. Whew! I stayed up and unpacked so it was 6am before I got to bed here in Mexico. But I'm here, I'm here. And for good, too. :-)

Thanks, y'all. I'm so glad I sold my car on Wednesday back in the USA because today I bought me a little motorscooter here to putter to the store with in Mexico. I went there today because I'm throwing a party for 15 neighbors tomorrow night so the nuns I live with can meet my downtown friends I've made over the years visiting here before my move to Mexico. I'm so happy to be throwing a party--wish y'all could come, amigos!

    Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.
