I did the dumbest thing today. I charged my earbuds, unplugged the block and put the block in my little bag instead of the earbuds. I wasn't happy about that when I got to the gym. What a dummy!

Ever since I stopped doing therapy because of insurance, I've been feeling that old tense and irritable sense of anxiety and stress. I hate that. I was making so many strides and changes during therapy, my therapist would acknowledge all of my progress and accomplishments, and I miss that reassurance. Today I thought about it, and I made those changes! She would always tell me that I chose to...
Soothing tail wags, blue. You are not alone.
I freak out if it's a certain kind of crying. A little squall from "Hey, change me, feed me, I need nap time" is okay, but when it hits that point where the child is.... yeah, I get sick to my stomach and have to block it out or forget how to breathe. They seem to have settled a bit now, after a year, but it was news when the little girl first slept through the entire night...really...after about six months.
Those kids go off like twin air-raid sirens around bedtime, and OMGOMGOMG...it's both horrible and darkly funny that I had to go hide in another room because I was shaking when I was over?
I thought everyone had that level of physiological reaction, because it's designed to get your attention. But I asked my guy-who has nursemaided infants on occasion ( food in one end, poop out the other, pretty simple, he says) if he reacts like that? Nope.
Keep in mind his PTSD symptoms are usually worse than mine-he's far more on the hyperalert/flashback side of things, while I'm on the dissociative space-cadet end?
So that's REALLY weird to my way of thinking. I see an incongruity there. When there's an incongruity, often there's a buried memory...

It's better to find those land mines on purpose than to set them off by accident...as witness the last couple of weeks and the near-loss of my fiance...
