Hi.
I have a new Therapist since July last year. I am having worst worst time. She gave me a book to read about grief. She gives me resources which most I am clueless about. She suppose to know about autism but my case Manager more knowledge. Case Manager is a case Manager for individuals like me.
My Therapist treats me as if all artistic is the same and my case Manager doesn't like it. My Therapist is clueless about a lot of things but has knowledge about some. Now my Therapist is afraid to talk to my psychiatric because she thinks my psychiatric is going to hate me if she Talk to her.
I forward some of my Therapist email to Case Manager. My case Manager is getting to see that I am very overwhelmed and getting sicker and dropping my PCP every time I find a new one because so far my PCP is like my Therapist, clueless.
Please understand that my Therapist seems nice and seems to want to help but is clueless. She could be clueless because I am weried because minis autism I am a very overwhelmed patient or client because of my medical issues, trauma and severity and multiple issues because of trauma. I think what makes me different is my faith and love for people etc.
I am adding to my case Manager but she said I am not but I think she cares a lot about me which is weried. I don't open up much to anyone so to have someone who cares that much is weried. My Church is different because they allow me to be.

Mornings or Nights?*You can’t say both (or neither), or add stipulations, or make substitutions- just commit and pick one of the two choices!

Or is there an Autism Assoc in your state that you could call?.... there may be a list of therapists and doctors that work regularly with autism.... xo

It's frustrating, but it's worth it to ask for the specialist therapist for your own needs. It took me a long time to ask, I didn't want to make waves, but my own recovery in therapy only started when I did. I got a VA doctor who worked with combat soldiers to take me on as his patient, too, and that's when things started getting better.
They can get better for you, too, rose, if you push for a therapist who's not clueless about autism. It's ok to do that.
My Therapist sees some clients with autism both children and adults. One of my case Manager works with only individuals with autism. Where I live sadly there's not much for adults with autism.. Plus the waiver I am on it is a different type and I can't have both. My case Manager said I am the first and will help her Company for future individuals like me base on my situation. However the agency that my case Manager works for is a well company and does a lot of research, Advocating etc. It is a popular agency etc.
Sadly where I am Insurance determines who I can see and not much Therapist etc on Plan. I checked website last year most Therapist on it does not take my Insurance. It is sad because some states have more help and some like mine certain areas as and certain areas don't. I can't even get help for sensory issues or ABA Therapy because I am on a different waiver and Insurance plan don't cover. And no I can't change Insurance nor can I switch waiver. My case Manager did her own investigation and called the state off and it is what it is. My case Manager said the good thing is my case will open doors because its the first of it kind. I feel like I always get less than others and sad to say there is always very little or because of me Advocates are able to advocate to get law etc happen. I feel like I am a nobody and does not deserve anything and others can but I can't. I don't want to be selfish. Its hard to talk about sorry, good night
Nothing better to add but.... supoprt an dhope for you.
Yep, 12. Please don't get discouraged by how long it took to find my therapist fit, it was worth it when it finally did happen. Boom! Recovery started to take off for me. I don't think it'll take 12 years for you, especially since you know more than I did about what to ask for.
