....have I ever given up on anything or anyone but I'm done. Just done. I have nothing left. All the DBT training and counseling aren't even scratching the surface. Meds aren't working. There isn't a psychiatrist in town tha will take me on. My history is too difficult. So I'm done too.

Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.

But it did keep me alive, and that mattered so I could slowly, very slowly, build back a life. After the psych ward and bankruptcy with no job, as a 42 year old I had to move back in with my elderly parents, get a job near them, and start over.
Starting over meant a whole new career, and since PTSD is what I knew, I did training and got a job as a trauma chaplain in a big city ER, and then at another one.
10 years later, I was back in the hospital myself again, though this time not in the psych ward. I never quit anything, either, but I had to quit my other career again not because of PTSD but CKD, chronic kidney disease. It put me on crutches, then a cane. I had to take a job that paid less.
Last year I had a problem doing the job that pays less. I don't quit stuff, but it quits on me sometimes. As I wrote here today in my own crisis thread I started, I collapsed on the job last summer and ended up in the hospital for 4 days again. I've been really worried about that now for the last 3 days. This afternoon, I think the crisis was averted.
But you never know, at least that's been my experience. So if you're done, going to the hospital like my friends helped me to do worked for me. Going yourself will beat what they did for me, which was get to police to show up at my house to take me. Having them at my door scared the heck out of me.
I don't have any pearls of wisdom or magic advice, just what we've got here--peer support because being a peer means I've been there, and might be there again. Hang in there for yourself, and hang in there for others like me who'll probably need your support, too, down the line. Thinking of you!
There are two videos I have seen recently I think you might like https://youtu.be/rPzPFXxP2xM and https://youtu.be/qqv6XW7omX8
they are from a session with a lady who has cptsd and the method used likes quite amazing...certainly, the results do.
Just the present moment is so much to bear, there's no way to think about how much time has passed like that nor to dread how much longer. Just what's on the plate in this one moment is all there is for me in times like these. I can't tell you how or why it worked, it just did. We're with you moment by moment. You're not alone.
