Least favorite..is when they are pushing, repeating it a hundred times, and jumping up and down on my triggers.
My kids are 16 and 18, and they're still in the process of learning that I'm still just a person too.
Around 11-14...kids start looking grown up. It's hard to remember just how very young they still are.
I once asked my son to go down to the garage to check how much gas we had for the mower. He asked what he could pour the gas into! Sigh. He had "seen" me pick up the can hundreds of times...but it never occurred to him that he could just check the gas that way.
When I was in high school my father tried to take his life and went into the hospital for a bit. It was rough.
But it wouldn't have been rougher to have lost him.
Don't let your son's awkwardness of dealing with your issues fool you into thinking that he doesn't care.
