Find support with others who have gone through a traumatic experience. Whether you have chronic or acute PTSD, we are here for you.

My PTSD started when I was bullied and teased in school, close true friends I've met faced the bullies in my defense, but I knew some day they couldn't all be around me forever, I would needed to learned how to defend for myself. Days before my school graduation, I was in a girl sorority. One day at my parents home, I had an expected vistor from school, lets call him "Brad" how did he know where I lived? I didn't have any boyfriends I mostly hanged around with my sorority sisters. My conversation with Brad, didn't last long and he left to go back home afterwards. The next day after the school on my way walking home, is when I was surrounded by a group of boys, it wasn't a happy ending for me, my inner child was broken. Years later, everyone has grown up, some of the bullies moved away out of state, I'm the only one who stayed behind. Whenever I ride my bicycle, I remember the streets where the trauma happened, if feels as if my inner child is trapped in time, but the world surrounding me has grown up, I find myself making mistakes not understanding the ways how adults see things or reason with them.

I did the dumbest thing today. I charged my earbuds, unplugged the block and put the block in my little bag instead of the earbuds. I wasn't happy about that when I got to the gym. What a dummy!

Ever since I stopped doing therapy because of insurance, I've been feeling that old tense and irritable sense of anxiety and stress. I hate that. I was making so many strides and changes during therapy, my therapist would acknowledge all of my progress and accomplishments, and I miss that reassurance. Today I thought about it, and I made those changes! She would always tell me that I chose to...
a recurring theme in my own multi-trauma recovery has been called by more names than i care to recall, but it is the spots where my childhood development froze in time. even after i have identified one of those spots, i cannot seem to development past the traumatic event. those are not easy snot knots to cough up. works in progress. . . it's a team effort. my therapy support network is awesome.
dunno if that fits your case, or not. i mostly wanted to welcome you onboard. i hope you find stabilizing companionship and healing hopes here.
I am so sorry to read that this happened to you
It would be so ugly and painful
DS is a good place to come
I'm glad that you've found us...Big hug...xo
As a kid I had a bipolar dad who moved us when he was manic so much that I went to 13 schools in 4 different countries from k-12. Every year I was the new kid and met that school's bully.
I was smart, though, and so in 2 moves I got to skip a grade. However, I was 11 years old in high school. That meant I not only met the high school bully, I met the high school pedophile.
He had flunked 2 grades so as a senior he was old enough to be in the army while I was still a child before puberty. He attacked me twice, and that was it, as you say, for MY inner child, too.
Later I did therapy and got in touch with others kids from that time who were now adults. It turned out that pedophile had attacked 4 other boys and girls.
All 5 of us as adults who'd survived that 1 same pedophile as kids got together and shared support as a group. It was my big brealthrough in my PTSD recovery. I learned I wasn't alone.
After that I came here to DSPTSD and I haven't been alone for a single day since. Sorry for the trauma that brought you here, but glad you found us. Welcome!
