3 weeks ago my live in boyfriend lost it and beat and strangled me for almost an hour. He is in jail facing a felony but I am just a mess.I just don't know how to start to let go of the pain. I know 3 weeks isn't long, but its like it just happened. I am scared to see him in court gratefully its zoom not live still. But I don't even want to see his face. Just lost. I never expected this. Thanks for listening. or reading..

Sometimes baby steps are the best and only way to go.... One day, one hour, one moment at a time
If you can get into some therapy for trauma it can help a lot
This is a good place to come... I'm glad that you've found us
Big hug of peace and calm.....xo
How do you let go? I'm sorry, it's a cliche, but... THerapy. The sooner you go after a trauma, the better the results for you long-term. For me? I didn't have the option. I went with some things, but it wasn't specific to the traumas... Long story short? ...
The main thing here? Stay safe. Be safe. And here, you ARE safe. We're all here b/c we've had rotten things happen and it's left scars on us in many ways.
So... vent. Cry. Write. Find a reliable therapist for post-trauma treatment (some treatments, like EMDR, are most effective if done as soon as possible after the traumatic event).
Peace.
Healing hopes to you.
As hard as it may be to get started trauma therapy can help.
Stay strong and don't give in. Him being in jail is the right thing. Court may be hard, but you can do it.
Sending lots of hugs and support your way. Wishing you some moments of peace.
