Still in Texas. Barely. Decided to cross the state line in the morning with an exploratory focus.

Shreveport is, indeed, a dynamic little city, especially since Louisiana legalized gambling. I love a worthy gamble, but organized gambling is not my thing. However I encounter quite a few gamblers who head to Shreveport instead of Las Vegas these days. If ya likes your nights electric bright, it is a good destination. I prefer the gentler ancient lights of a natural night. My draw there is the Red River and the surrounding countryside. Something for everybody. The general area calls itself, "Arklatex." Lots of colorful characters of just about every stripe.
