Hi everyone,
A lot has changed in the past eight months. I started my journey to healing, and some days it is easy and sometimes I struggle. I recently spoke to my girlfriend and told her I just don't feel like myself in my clothes anymore. All of the clothes / style I have been in is directly related to the parts of my life that holds the most trauma. With healing I finally found myself, and I want to change my style to fit me. I never knew clothes could hold so much truama and hurt. I had a panic attack the other day when one of my shirts were too tight and fitting. My girlfriend grabbed my hands and told me to breathe before she helped me take off the shirt and looked for me a new one. Tonight she sent me a link to a pintrest board that she had made for my new style the one that I can fully be true to. She is beyond supportive and one of the best support systems I've ever had.
I recently had a shoulder injury and now im waiting on results to see if i will need surgery or not, and my car is almost beyond the point of being fixed.
In another note, has anyone here been misdiagnosed bipolar and it actually ended up being BPD? I am tired of psych appointments so i took myself off all of my meds and so far im doing well (i did that back in may)
anyway much love,
x kb

88FIn 1969 we decided to get married without a big wedding. Most of our friends and family liked large over the top for the time kind of weddings and I did not. First, I didn't see why spending so much money for one day when we have the rest of our lives to live. I have never regretted not having a big formal wedding. Another issue is not liking all the attention. Also, we have gone to big...

We're all troubled.WSo, to remind ourselves we're not at rock bottom (this is a reverse optimism thing I learned as a kid):We are not living on the island of Krakatoa when the volcano goes boom!Yeah, okay, that sucks.***Toay in 1942, Pierre Laval announced that the way to free France was for Germany to win WW2. Pierre did not win a lot of friends. When the war ended, quite quickly he was tried...

I have had people who aren't doctors label me as bipolar. And then ibwas put on Adderall for ADHD. Oh what wonders did it have on my nervous system. Never again. I was also on SSRI's at the same time. Doctors made a lot of mistakes about my health. It wasn't until I went to a counselor after quitting my medication on my own accord that I was diagnosed with PTSD.
The truth is even though we have questionnaires and forms to fill out we can never really correctly diagnose someone unless you scan your brain under an MRI I suppose. At the same time, I come from the experience that most diagnoses of multiple disorders are caused by persistent trauma and should be treated as a trauma diagnosis like PTSD.
Like arfie said, sometimes you have to take what you get to get the services you need. Regardless the mental health system is broken imo. It pushes out medication but doesn't solve the issue and encourage someone to deal with their issues on their own. Medication just numbs the pain.
My car is falling apart too. I'm waiting for it to break down. I just spent 3,000 dollars to keep it running and get it prepared for winter. I have a feeling it was just a mistake.
I LOVE the new wardrobe idea. I've changed styles frequently over the years, and I've noticed that the more comfortable I am in myself, the simpler the styles but brighter colors. Like I'm trying less to hide. Also, I go through my clothes every year or two and donate anything tha tisn't "me" anymore.
That said, NOTHIGN touches my neck. Full flashbacks can hit. No crewneck or turtleneck. I'm lucky I don't live in a cold climate. I don't mind a light silk scarf, but heavy winter ones make me edgy.
Meanwhile, I'm glad you're finding days of peace/healing. :-)
