I have PTSD due to family trauma combined with some pretty traumatic stuff involving my husband's family and children. I've had pretty extensive counseling and over the years I have gotten to where I recognize in advance anything that might trigger me. I put up a boundary and I'm fine.  I haven't had an episode in years.  


One of my husband's children is coming to visit, the first time in over 10 years (which I am happy for him about) but the child's presence is triggering for me.  My plan was to take a personal trip but I had an accident and now am bedridden. I can't get away. I haven't been on medication in years, have nothing to help me medically deal with it, we just moved to a new state, new job, new insurance....nothing I can do.  I can already feel the mounting physical effects.  The kid shows up tomorrow.  


I need a distraction...some support...anything!!!

Experience has taught me no, not while I'm here. And it'll be some new horror that I wasn't expecting. It has to do with parental alienation and being targeted by a person with narcissistic personality disorder. Any details will only trigger me more quickly and severely.

B, no need for details. Feel free to come on DS 24/7 if you need to. Feel free to spend the whole time in your bedroom, and have your husband tell them you are napping, so he just left your meal by the bed for when you wake up, Take the space. Supportive and comforting hugs.

    My day...today...misplaced my debit card...didn't realize it until I got to the register after shopping to a full cart.  Used a different debit card and pulled apart everything looking for missing debit card before I left parking lot.  Got home, dropped keys.
