Insomnia Season?

The days have gotten noticeably longer to my senses. My sleep is more restless because of it. I am weary of the long winter solstice nights and ready for Spring. Hurry, hurry! Get here NOW! Yesterday would be better. It doesn't affect me anywhere near as much as it did 60 solstices and much therapy work ago, but I feel it, all the same.


My critters and the wildlife outside my window seem to agree. They look as restless as I am. Turns out there is a pretty diverse owl population out here. They have been sitting on the electrical wires feeding the farm light, watching for the rabbits and rodents scurrying across the open space of the compound.


So. . . How outlandish is it to declare this, "Insomnia Season?"

The seasons can very much affect people's moods, sleeping patterns, etc. Do you know if you might have SAD? Some people find that a special light bulb in the house during winter helps them. Hope you get a good night's sleep tonight!

Wow yes! Insomnia season, me too. What is going on with us all. I as well was thinking about this winter & am ready to welcome spring myself.

This effects me HUGE most of the time.... A lot of people with mental health disorders are greatly effected by insomnia.... It's a symptom that I struggle with and I hate.... There's not much better then a great nights sleep IMHO

Not me Arf just to be contrary LOL. On heavy doses of meds from my shrink atm and still getting the alcohol out of my system. I'm sure it will change come the Spring Equinox. Besides who wants to lie in bed all day when there's a wonderful world out there to enjoy?

Actually this is always my best sleep of the year. Dark and cold always helps me sleep. And when I can't, it never seems as bad as in the middle of the summer. Hate, hate, hate daylight savings...supposed to be dark at night and light in morning.

I am with you on hating daylight confusion time, Patti. Daylight savings time is my favorite example of how much easier it is to pass a law than to get rid of it. It made sense back in WW! and WWII when there were severe power shortages and critical demands. Fast forward half a century and the government, et al, is encouraging us to burn lights all night, every night, through every season. What purpose does the law serve now, save putting us out of whack with ourselves and the rest of the world twice a year?

    My day...today...misplaced my debit card...didn't realize it until I got to the register after shopping to a full cart.  Used a different debit card and pulled apart everything looking for missing debit card before I left parking lot.  Got home, dropped keys.
