Over compensating is one of my psycho bad girls. If it's worth doing, it's worth over-doing. It's worth putting the rest of my life on hold while I obsess over every detail, both real and conjectured. If a piece isn't going in as expected, go for the bigger hammer. I shudder to wonder how much damage I've caused with my bigger hammers. In my own strictly personals, there is definitely such a thing as trying too hard. When I am trying too hard, the simplest details start feeling impossible.
My long coveted Tower Garden ( http://www.towergarden.com/aeroponics ) is assembled and it is time to start programming gadgets, mixing solutions and filling seed cups. Aeroponics sound so simple when they talk about it on Star Trek. Too bad the Star Trek writing staff didn't write the instructions to my new toy.
I am reminding myself to be patient with the learning curve. Small bytes and long chews. I am reading/tinkering in small chunks and chewing each chunk for however long is needed before taking the next byte. When I am ready for the next step, it will be easy. It looks pretty cool. I have it on a dolly so that I can try it in different places around the house. Maybe I'll just let it be a conversation piece. It'll probably be less messy that way.
Thoughts? Opines? Reality checks? Aeroponic tips?

My day...today...misplaced my debit card...didn't realize it until I got to the register after shopping to a full cart. Used a different debit card and pulled apart everything looking for missing debit card before I left parking lot. Got home, dropped keys. So now I have a missing debit card, missing keys. A full cartload to unload and put away. I got everything put away.Dumped purse for a...

I think having it on a dolly is inspired. I only hve one set of windows with regular, solid sunlight, so my in-home gardening capacity is.... limited. Put it on wheels, and I can roll things outside for sunlight... Hmmm...
I've had ot learn to not go-too-far. My chlidhood meant "perfection is the only option". Adulthood is... learning that perfection is what you decide it is. Job done? Good enough for me (sometimes.)
I don't know what I'm saying, but... persevere and if nothing else, you're focusing your energies in a positive way. :-) Go you!
Yea, those how-to elooks are daunting, to say the least. I am trying to read them in the same spirit that I read gardening books. Those, too, make simple things sound complicated. It seems like the easier a thing is to do, the harder it is to say.
With the grow lights, I should be able to put it wherever I choose, especially since the house I set it up in is mostly empty. I currently have it set in a dining room corner, but those lights are brighter than I like. Having plants in the tower should damper the brightness spilling into the room, but so far the plants remain theory.
Alas, no more.
Plants grab onto my threshold in a desperate attempt to avoid a slow painful, one leaf at a time death.
My only advice...is not to follow my advice. (But you can send the fish my way...I'm good with them.)
But the mechanics understanding of the pump, and spreading the water through the top to filter down in a way that every little green thing got a happy amount of love was what I was going for. Hugs. How's the project going? Coffee?
I am also great digging at dry wells too
