I can't seem to move. I have a mental block that keeps me in my chair. It takes pain and/or great to exhausting effort to move to another spot. When I do move I stay put in the new spot till I'm forced to move again. The only time I move (and quickly) is when I'm done in the bathroom.
I have to admit it has gotten worse over the years.
Does any one else have this problem?
I will check replies tomorrow. I need to sleep now. Thank you.

At times I hunker down in one place to feel safe and secure, but I usually have my lap top, the tv, an e-book, my phone or some combination of the above, I am not unconscious or just staring into space. I do have chronic fatigue - it makes me low energy not mentally inactive.
Have you tried talking to a doctor about this?
But are you saying your immobility may not be due to physical reason? If so, I would be sure to be checked out by a doctor and a therapist to pinpoint the issue. You may be able to enjoy a change.
Sometimes I just want to stay in bed and not ever wake up at all, like I'm there in the fetal position. I don't know if that's what yours is like.
I went to my weekly anxiety group with this question. They helped me narrow down my "hot thought". It may be a fear of being harmed.
As a small child under the age of 4 y/o I was regularly beaten; most of which I don't remember. My older siblings did. They told of 2 times where they thought I was going to die.
One time my father punched me so hard I stopped breathing; the other time he kicked me with his army boots so much and hard that I want into convulsion.
I may have had one of these types of abuses for not siting still.
If this thought is correct, then I am in a normal state by not moving from my spot. Just like some people who survived a plan crash never fly again.
I would value any ones opinion and input.
I'm sorry you went through that. If that's the case then maybe grounding would work? When you feel like that remind yourself that you are in the present and look at things around you, and breathe, and see if that helps you?
are you scared when you are moving to another spot, what could be reason to make you to stay put in new spot
then how can you move so quickly from bathroom, is there also fear of not being put at the spot where you moved, so you go back to that spot very quickly without much effort like from ones when you change your spots and need for exhausting, great effort to move
how you feel when you spend so much time at the same spot, how you feel when you are out, not at home?
Some questions you maybe can think about, and i did see that you think it is from being scared of harming
You are no more that little child, you arent now in harm way, is there any way that you can start to practice to move more often rather than being still at the same spot, can you try anything like that, first only a one try daily and see can it help you in any way, maybe try to move even if you cant complete it at the time, an attempt of move
Im sorry that you have such a bad time
Hope you find what it is for you. Sounds painful.
Time passes and I can be there for hours. The only way I describe this, is that I think it is because, I am scared to move. I feel so weird at that time. In my mind, if i stay still I am safer? At least I presume it is this? I know when I feel like that, I just want to be alone as I find it easier to cope with.
