Today I heard that my moms sister had been visited by her dad.
Way before I was born their father was an alcoholic and would abuse the kids and drag my grandmother by her hair (through the house), she left him and took the kids. The kids had shared time with both parents, and he eventually died from cirrhosis of the liver.
My aunt says that he called her a “petty bitch, with the life of a slut”.
my aunt has had several different affairs behind my uncles back, and it’s pretty awful.
And why of all people would her abuser see her? Her dads been dead for nearly 30 years.
All of this just confuses me. I’m really starting to question her sanity.

My own trauma flashbacks feel real enough to feel like a visitation. Feel free to question my sanity when I am in the grips of a flashback. It is a crazy experience.
"Why" remains a hotly debated mystery.
All I can say is that you're not alone; a lot of us here can relate from family experience along the same lines. You're not alone.
More than that though...why is she talking to you, her niece, about this stuff?
Does she want something from you?
get some light on it and give it some air. get some space to have a look at it. see what you think after seeing it better - or what you don't need to think, maybe.
it seems like maye, i'm guessing xo, that this may be more information than you need/want to know...
some kids are made to listen to way more than is.. best for them? maybe that is where my brain is heading.
i remember back when i believed i was invisible, as a kid - this is a brand new memory right now - the adults would carry on talking adult talk whether i was there or not. i heard things i don't think a kid should have heard... maybe.
i agree that maybe your aunt had a bad flashback, probably something like that.
big soft hugs xo
