Anybody here know anything about hives? No, silly, not beehives. The hives which arise from nervous stress and/or allergy. For sure, I get pysician confirmed hives from stress. My question which gets those same doctors shrugging is, are there hives which look more like bug bites than rashes?
Anybody have any clues? Just wondering.
I'm not sure if this is OT (off-topic) or not. I kinda feel like stress aches are one of my PTSD symptoms. I am currently covered in bug bites that nobody else seems to be getting bitten by. Compulsively scratching holes in my epidermis is another of my symptoms. Not sure if the 3 are connected.

I'm alive, I'm sleeping like a rock, and for some reason I wanted cherry juice so that seems to be helping. (??? Weirdo that I am.)***Infamous therapies over history:1. The Attic. The madwoman in the attic is a motif in literature going waaaaaay back: the nutty female relative is locked in the attic. (See: Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte for a grotesquely racist version of it, and Charlotte Perkins...

Hey all, i know its been quite awhile since i posted on here. Its been a summer all right. Its been something else........... You know how they say not to open the can of worms? Well a few months ago i decided to find out what my due date would have been for my first baby, the one conceived by r***. My baby would have been due on March 4th of 2006. They would be 20 years old. I was R**** on June...

I just read that
"hives caused by allergies are red or skin-colored, raised and often itchy bumps which may occur in clusters, similar to insect bites."
Maybe take some BENADRYL the red liquid medicine.

Given my feral tendency to crawl around in places where the brave dare not go, there's nothing real unusual about me being covered in bug bites nobody else is being bitten by, but I frequently find myself covered with this particular sort of *bite* when I've been staying to the civil spots.
Civil bites?
It be the absence of clustering which brings on the question. The welt-style hives were the ones the doctors were confident on.
I just finished a mustard bath which helped. Been using mustard oil instead of scratching them into craters. It helps but I might end up taping oven mitts to my hands to keep me from scratching in my sleep.
OTC benadryl didn't make a dent.
There's also the possibility of an allergic reaction to something entirely different, environmental, particulate, etc.
All that nerdiness aside, yep. Clean oven mitts, and what about calomine (sp) lotion? On th eoff chance you got downwind of poison oak/ivy/sumac smoke or something?
Oh, and what about termites/ants? (Bedbugs I don't know, but I do know to check around electrical outlets. They love those.) Formic acid and other substances put off by crawlers might affect your skin? Particularly if stress is in the mix already? Like, this is multi-factor causation, not just a single factor?
You have puzzled and confused and intrigued me. If anything pops up into this old farm kid's head, I'll shout it out. (Relevant ot itchy spots. Oh, yeah, and there's also mold, fungus, etc... Which might be why benadryl didn't do much.)
Do they appear Where you're clothed only or unclothed only? Both? Equal distribution?
Dang, Arfie, I hope you feel better soon. I'm recovering from cellulitis and itch from that had me awake far more than safe or sane.
Puma healing to you.
This particular type of *bite* shows up semi-randomly at least once or twice a year, typically during the summer/fall months. This is my second round this summer.
Just thought I'd rattle a few more trees before I shrug it off as *just* another non-lethal irritation. It always seems to go away on its own. Bet it does this time too. I might die *with* it, but it's not likely to be what kills me.
Scratch, scratch.
Funny thing about research is that ya never can tell which tree the nut you need is gonna fall out of. My most valued sources are mano a mano.
They look like pretty standard bug bites. The kind I'd expect from any given day in the field. The diff being they don't fit the business as usual exposure. They crop up as randomly as stress hives but look like bites.
Shrug-a-lug. I bet this round will pass, too.
