I'm my wife's care giver somewhat and since deer season has ended I now have to spend a lot of time with her. The anxiety is building up. I sometimes don't feel like talking to her. It seems all she can talk about is her medical conditions. Or else it's like nagging. She is negative and puts out a lot of drama. I wish it wasn't this way. Right now my whole body is shaking inside. I wish I had somewhere to go every day to escape. I struggle with trying to remain positive. I don't need her stuff to bring me down I have enough of it without her contributing. This sucks. On the subject of deer hunting I didn't get one but I had a tremendous amount of fun with friends. Thanks for reading this.

I did the dumbest thing today. I charged my earbuds, unplugged the block and put the block in my little bag instead of the earbuds. I wasn't happy about that when I got to the gym. What a dummy!

Ever since I stopped doing therapy because of insurance, I've been feeling that old tense and irritable sense of anxiety and stress. I hate that. I was making so many strides and changes during therapy, my therapist would acknowledge all of my progress and accomplishments, and I miss that reassurance. Today I thought about it, and I made those changes! She would always tell me that I chose to...
At one of the churches where I serve part time weekends there's a woman who has been her mom's primary health care giver for years. She's become exhausted by the stress of it all, so I've seen what you're talking about. She's not a spouse in the relationship, she's a daughter, but I've seen that no matter whether spouse or daughter as a loved one caregiver getting tired the stress is compounded by guilt over it, too.
There's a Widows and Widowers group here at Daily Strength. Maybe there ought to be a loved ones caregivers support group too, you know?
I am neither hunter nor fisher, but I seldom pass on hunting and fishing trips. They go my kind of places. Perhaps your gratification from the outing can offer clues to what to do with your much needed time off?
Continued support, whichever way you take it, Mack.
I was one for years and I know how hard it is
I'm in Canada so I'm not sure what your situation is where you are..... Are you entitled to respite care??.... If you're not sure I would talk with your wife's physician or your family doctor and ask to be referred to a social worker.... I used to work in Community Health here and there is often a lot available that people aren't aware of..... Gentle hug.... xo
