Yes, it is 'normal' for us. We all have nightmares, though some more than others.

Yeah it's pretty normal. Some have nightmares of the stuff that happened. I have nightmares that similar things are happening but the situation is different. Sometimes I have nightmares about bad things that are coming in the future.

Yes it is normal, but you do not have to live like this. There are medications that can help to reduce nightmares. Also a good trauma counselor can do wonders. If those are not possible, look up CBT and DBT courses or books. PTSD rewires the brain, CBT and DBT can help to rewire the brain so the connections to the trauma are not as strong.

Yep. That's me. Often mine come cloaked---then peel away to show the event. It's kinda horrible. E.g., my zombie nightmare turned out to be about how my sis and dad treated me. Symbolic until it wasn't. And that was less fun than the zombies, to be honest.

Normal, yes, but it doesn't have to be permanent. I used to have epic nightmares, but have resolved them without medication.

Yes, nightmares used to plague me a lot. I don't know what others were prescribed, but my doctor prescribed me Seroquel for mine. Very strong drug. It meant I did have dreams at all, good or bad. I was on it for about 4 years, and I've been off of it now for 4. Glad to be off of it and have dreams again, because dreaming makes sleep more restful when I wake up. It also is good to have cheerful dreams again. The nightmares have mostly stopped now because of the talk therapy I did during those years that I was on Seroquel.
