I got to talking about my past and it triggered a flash back and now im having a panic attack. Im trying a breathing exerise to try and calm my self down. My heart is racing and feels like it might come out of my chest and my hands are going numb. Any advice???

And, yes, talking about whatever is making you anxious can help you get it out of your mind, and can also help you identify your trigger.

The Buddhist or Hindu methods have to do with getting the breathing in rhythm with a mantra or a chant of some kind. The musical quality of it seems to work for me, but so would this mathematical method, too. Thanks, hopefulfuture, I'm going to use it.
