I had a rough night last night and today twice my thermometer has shown me to be running a fever of 102.1. I have chronic kidney disease and diabetes, so at 61 I'm in the high risk group for COVID-19. My buddy of 37 years, Deb, died of it in 2 days on March 13th.

I called a member of my church board to cancel being their guest speaker tomorrow. I called my next door neighbor to let her know I'd like to get to the ER for a COVID-19 test. I collapsed for reasons unknown in the night Feb. 24th and spent a night in the hospital for observatioin and neurological and cardiological tests that were inconclusive.

I live alone, so I'm scared. If I'm not on here as your CL for a few days this is why. Hope to be back.

My pastor once said, "If I get covid, the worst that can happen is I get very sick. The best?? I will meet Jesus.." While life is precious and not to be taken for granted, it helped me find peace in a way.

So sorry you're feeling so sick Mujica. Glad you're planning to go in and get tested / receive care. I hope you're feeling better soon.

Thanks, everybody. It was another bad night but my temperature peaked at that 102.1 last night and came down during the wee hours this morning to 100, so I'm relieved. Now I'll try to get coronavirus testing this week. Your prayers and replies here really helped me as I struggled with my fears that I would die like my buddy Deb did in March. So glad I could be back here at DS PTSD.

Does anyone here have a comfort item you carry with you when you go out? For example this is my doll, Annie, and I've recently been bringing her with me when I run errrands flor have an appointment. Holding her comforts me. I've bought her clothes, crocheted for her, I recently bought a personalized blanket with her name on it. Just wondering if anyone else has a comfort item.
