Happy Thanksgiving, Rose. Believe it or not, a turning point for me came after therapy got me here and 4 years ago a member suggested I keep a gratitude journal. I have combat, domestic violence, and sexual assault PTSD, so just out of survival my PTSD radar is hypervigilant for whatever's wrong in every day. I have to go out of my way at the end of every day to notice anything that thankfully went right. It works, though. It's simple. I start just by filling the blanks in in this sentence.

I am grateful for ______________________ because _____________________________ .

Since then, Thanksgiving's become kind of a PTSD holiday for me and my gratitude journal.

Understand, it is easy for me to be thankful and do practice it. Sometimes I write gratitude letters and mail out. My life has never been good but I chose to look for the good all around me. Some are puzzle because I do this but its a choice I and I noticed when I go out in my community people are not thankful and is shock when I say "Thank you" or "Good morning".

Muji I chose because I think no matter what going wrong there is hope. I like you had a tough life but I feel like there is still a chance to find something to be thankful for. In 2018 I wrote a 30 day reason to be thankful. Each day I wrote one thing I was thankful for. Be aware at that time I lost everything and was going to be homeless. But somehow while writing each day one thing I was thankful for I didn't realize but two later I noticed I had one month the time where I was writing what I was thankful for that FPL forgive me one month. My Landlord forgave me one month. Every bills I had I got one month of forgiveness because I could pay. I did not have any money for a month. Yet I had food etc. My light, water, phone etc was not turned off

I spent Thanksgiving with a friend and her husband. We've known each other for 8 years here, and met via Skype many times.

But we'd never met in person, and we figured this pandemic would be a good time. We all got
COVID-19 tested and made all kinds a precautionary plans, then I drove 4 hours to their house and we quarantined together all 3 of us for the holiday. Their cats didn't like it; one of them peed on their bed. Ouch.

But for us humans it really worked out well! They're vegetarians, so I had my first Thanksgiving
tofu-turkey.
