From what I see, the most effective healing is to look and focus forward. The more we can talk about other things the faster the darkness fades into the background. Dont read that wrong I mean talking about the events openly is definitely a factor in healing but the other half is filling the space with things that arent that bad memory. It can be a bit harder in smaller groups like here because posts dont move as fast. But hey thats just what Ive noticed.
The report feature is our best asset. The CLs and DS staff can put a stop to a developing problem the fastest, so some fireworks dont turn into a volcano. But we need to bring it to their attention, or the system doesnt work.
My personal reaction is usually to say something in defense, and contact the person I feel like might need some extra support who was victimized. Any time you can remind someone that the negative voice isnt the only voice, can help a lot. That doesnt mean you need to have a shouting match with the negative, you can just be a whisper to the source and still matter a lot.
Sometimes with PTSD it can be hard to bring yourself out of feeling like that negative is all there is, but that doesnt mean its not possible.
