I am in an especially nasty round of fights with hubs. Girl, howdy, I am feeling my chump dump mode. Feeling like I died and went to hell with my Father-in-law. Both sons are chips off that same family tree, so I frequently feel like I am having the same argument on 3 fronts. Plying therapy tools. . .
The therapy tool I am plying today is watching for Flight Indicators in the domestic disputes. Those are the catch phrases which indicate that a particular argument has spun out of control and it is time to back off for some calming time. Here are a few on my own list:
*You make me. . ." Nobody makes me anything. I only get to decide what to do with who and what I am.
*You think. . ." Never argue with mind readers.
*You always. . ." 100% is rare in life. Always leave room for the exceptions to be exceptional, even with professors of undying love. Inflexible expections are the most potent change obstacle in my personal psycho baggage car.
Hope I am making sense. My language circuits are still scrambling. Reality checks welcome.
Contributions to the list also welcome. Anybody else have any flight indicators to signal time for a calming break?

I did the dumbest thing today. I charged my earbuds, unplugged the block and put the block in my little bag instead of the earbuds. I wasn't happy about that when I got to the gym. What a dummy!

Ever since I stopped doing therapy because of insurance, I've been feeling that old tense and irritable sense of anxiety and stress. I hate that. I was making so many strides and changes during therapy, my therapist would acknowledge all of my progress and accomplishments, and I miss that reassurance. Today I thought about it, and I made those changes! She would always tell me that I chose to...
Sorry you're going through this time of struggle, arfie. Hope there's a payoff to getting through this process on the other side.
(When my ex and I got our golden retriever, it upset my ex so much to see the dog drink out of the toilet, that for pretty much my dog's entire lifetime, he put not just the seat down, but the cover also... just another reason why dogs are amazing...)
Patti: Have you done better with making a woman do anything? What is your secret?
Don't know if it was my 5 brothers, my wilderness wanders, my military service or my construction career, but I am pretty fanatical about checking the seat before I sit anywhere. Don't accuse me of experting, but I treat it like a habit to live by. When I live alone, I like to put down the top lid, too. Odor control. I will be sorry for the inconvenience, should you ever need to use my privy.
My latest challenge is getting teenagers to change the toilet paper roll. I've given step by step instructions, but they still struggle. Oh and anyone looking for a good place to hide things you don't want your kids to see...behind the spare rolls is an excellent option...
"You never..." again %100 is rare.
sorry you are having such a rough time arfie. gentle pixie hugs.
I hope you have some peace of mind soon......xo
