Flashbacks of dad's terrible suffering
lifeissocruel
I'm here because I watched my dad suffering horribly before he died. He had an extremely high fever and heart rate close to 180. Dad was blind and hard of hearing. The housecall doctor made me call the ambulance and they took him to hospital. The ambulance got lost along the way and arrived way after me - I couldn't find my dad. At ER they made me leave him alone to go and pay for the ambulance which was a long line up. He couldn't see or hear and was terrified without me. The paramedics forced me to sign a DNR because of his age - even before beginning a diagnosis.
After a week of antibiotic drips and eating soft foods, dad was discharged with one word "fever". The hospital doctor was horrible to me and told me "it's his age, we can't find out what's wrong". Dad came home and started recovering and our hopes were up. But the nurses at the hospital were rude and cruel to us and bruised him so much while taking blood and his blood pressure. They handled him like a dead carcass. I wish all of them would die a horrible slow death.
The next week dad was back in hospital with the same symptoms, and they shunted him from room to room. I had to stay with him 24 hours a day because he couldn't find the call bell for the nurses. They hurt him again and washed his genitals and pressure sores till they bled and gave him no antibiotic. Then they sent him home and told me it was "fever".
A few nights later, dad choked on his medication, went back to the hospital and was on the ventilator for 2 days, not being able to breathe. They gave him no antibiotics, and no saliva test but told me he had aspiration pneumonia. 3 doctors at the hospital shouted at me to go home, and so did the nurses, even though they told me he may not recover. They stopped all water and chased me out when I tried to giv him water, they stopped all food. When changing his diaper they threw him around the bed like a rag doll. He cried to me about the pain, he cried to me for food, he cried to me for water - they would now allow it.
They they administered morphine which made him sleepy and told me he was palliative. They sent him home and a palliative care doctor dressed all in black like an angel or demon of death came and prepared a whole lot of morphine syringes and antipsychotics and put them in my fridge.
I managed to give dad some water and soft soup and he ate. But it was too late, they had starved him and made him dehydrated enough to kill him. He had a death rattle for a whole day and then died. I am convinced they antipsychotic and morphine was a lethal cocktail that killed him. I don't trust any "healthcare" people - they just legalised euthanasia and assisted suicide and I'm sure the hospitals are giving bonuses to the doctors to murder their patients. This is because we have universal healthcare in Canada and they want to cut costs because the country is in deficit.
Taking legal action will not help - the same thing happened to an acquaintance of mine's mom and even calling the police and opening a criminal file does not help. They all support each other in their conspiracies. I'm here to share my story because my counsellor says I have PTSD from watching the cruelty from the people who I expected to be kind. I didn't sleep for 3.5 weeks and ate very little because I could not leave him alone. He was frightened because they treated him so roughly and caused him so much pain and he could not see or hear them.
I get flashbacks of his suffering and can't sleep. I walk around like a zombie with no purpose. I pray for the demise of those who hurt him so much, but I can't get justice. I jump at the slightest noise, and I worry all the time that they'll do the same to mom if she has to go to hospital.
Dad passed in December, and I was feeling depressed but now I just feel like there's not one soul I can trust on this earth, because mom's 30 relatives didn't come help us once, but turned up in force at the funeral to find out if dad left them anything.
Sorry for the long post - I never never believed people could be so cruel in this world. Now I know there's so much evil surrounding us - and it's making me neurotic that people are out to hurt us for their own selfish gain and enjoy tormenting others physically and emotionally.

Just wanted to give a thank you to Mid, Arfie, Malibumark, Greeneyes, Mlro, Girlincalif, and Suncloudjd! You all always have such helpful tips and advice, but I always forget to write on my posts when I see you post, lol. I would lose my head if it wasn't attached to my body, lol. Thank you all so much! I'm starting to use my AI app as a sounding board again. I used to use it as that before...

Hey all, i know its been quite awhile since i posted on here. Its been a summer all right. Its been something else........... You know how they say not to open the can of worms? Well a few months ago i decided to find out what my due date would have been for my first baby, the one conceived by r***. My baby would have been due on March 4th of 2006. They would be 20 years old. I was R**** on June...

Rambling is allowed here. Well. . . Nobody's kicked me out of the forum for it. Yet. So far. My social anxiety is expecting the email any time now. But. . . In the company of supportive companions, rambling helps me sort the yaddahs to my blahs.
Keep sorting. Your answers are in there. Welcome to the forum.
OT: May I call you by your acronym, LIC, for short?
Ramble on and ramble away. Seeing a loved one pass away is horrible enough without family worsening the situation. BTW, my dad's family showed up at my maternal grandma's funeral to see if she left us money they could talk us out of. WTH?!
I was abused all my childhood, but even so, the callousness of people in times of grief was astonishing to me. Much hugs.
At one time after finishing bible college, I also wanted to be a hospital chaplain after I retire from my "earning years". Now I know I can't possibly relate to the terrible cost-cutting system of health persons (can't call them professionals) and survive in an environment where pain is deliberately caused and death is hastened to save a few pennies.
I always believed that there would be safety, healing and comfort in hospitals and nursing homes, but I realise I'm wrong. Dad was also assaulted in the nursing home by his room-mate the first night he was there when mom was in hospital and I couldn't care for him. They put mentally disabled patients into nursing homes who are not separated from the frail and elderly (dad was blind and was feeling his way to the washroom when a much younger man of less than 50 years old recovering in the nursing home from some crime kicked him 5 times - and dad was never the same after that). I went to visit him and he asked "why do they have to hit me?"
It took all my self control not to beat up the guy who injured him so much, by telling myself that he was sick. The nursing home administrators and nurses did nothing although one nurse told me that this guy was known for hurting anyone who came near him!
I have no faith in anyone, don't trust anyone - and practise imaginary self defence moves when I walk down the street in case I get attacked. I check all my on-line bank accounts once a week in case someone steals from me. It's a horrible state of mind I know, but maybe with the current disasters, threats of terrorism, spreading diseases - it's a safer way to live.
I don't know your individual stories, but I want to give each of you a hug as you journey through life where people are less kind than they should be. And yes, you can call me LIC!
I seen many of the same physical effects you witnessed on your day, due to blood draws with bruising even in careful care givers. I spent months with the care of my mother and my husband through cancer.
Your description is accurate in end stage, but also triggering. I want you to feel welcome here, so there are some abbreviations we use, since many are here because of varied different painful realities.
TW, is trigger warning, use when some details may be graphic and strong emotions are stated. If it hurts you, it may hurt another. Post anyway, but a courtesy warning, so some might pass if they are fragile at the moment.
FF, Feeling fragile. Though this page is fairly active, it will alert others that you could use some support as soon as possible.
A newer one is:
PNA, Please no advice, sometimes a rant is just as valuable as any therapy when it is allowed to be heard and affirmed, without trying to fix.
Again welcome, and I am sorry for your reasons to be here, but I'm glad you found us.

I am afraid that if I create any kind of fuss by complaining, when my mom needs to go to hospital (we can't choose which one), they will abuse her and hurt her even more than my dad. She is already so scared to get sick now. Even 5 years ago it was not so bad, now they are treating all the low income folks the same way - trying to reduce their lifespan.
Even animals only hunt other animals for food but some "humans" have evil hearts worse than the lowest creature.
Who is lower than who here?
Hope I didn't get too far off-topic. . . Sincere apologies if I did.
