First timer, Introduction I guess?

I'm told I have Complex PTSD by the professionals, among other issues... covered by other support groups, I don't really know how to deal with it other than the way I've been dealing with it forever which is mostly boozing... To be honest I haven't read through other threads other than a few topics, but I figure the best way forward is just to dive in, I struggle everyday with memories, thoughts that torment me, it's like I'm reliving the terrible moments of my past every waking moment and in the nights if I do finally fall asleep from exhaustion or drinking myself to sleep I have nightmares and night terrors that wake me, it's been a year almost now since I "Officially" lost my mind, I found a resource throught a resource which brought me here, and I was sick of all the therapist atypicle responses so I don't know if this will do any good but here's to hoping, I suppose.

Here is my new brother, copper :) He's so tiny! Moo and Tuck were ok with him on first meeting. Rocket due to his severe aggression will never meet Cooper.

I am coming up on a ten year anni since I stopped drinking(Oct 2007), because it let too many gates down. I needed the ability to be able to control my self from the destruct button. I could still find reasons to, but I took away the excuse. Even so it is still a struggle when my experiences started so early that hope was an unknown word. I have to be able to be in control of my actions, since I it may be weeks before someone checked on me after losing my husband. If one thing helps daily it is my Dog, he deserves me sticking around.
I hope you find some strength with us.

Don't accuse me of experting, but I strongly believe my own cPTSD is a collection of dysfunctional habits on top of the traumatic events. Processing the trauma is not enough. I have habits to change, to boot. Who wrote these freaking rules, anyway? It sure helps to have the emotional support of folks caught in the same web, though. I get by with a little help from my friends. ^It^ is a different journey for each and every one of us, but it helps to know I am not alone with ^it^.
Welcome aboard, Bfor. Hope you find healing companionship here.
