Finally the news about tenure arrived

Holy cow, everybody! I was wrong. My head was about to explode from the stress of the second interview and waiting so long to hear back after offering my PTSD plan.
I just got an email from the college Vice President saying I got tenure!!!!
I got it being out of the closet about PTSD, with all the stigma and everything.
Thank you all so much from the deepest bottom of my whole heart. I could NOT have gotten through any stage of it being so open without your support. I am so glad I put my membership in DS PTSD on the record in my tenure report after all so I could have this chance to earn tenure on the truest terms about my whole self.
I am not just grateful about earning tenure, but about taking your support to muster the courage to challenge the system to accept PTSD and tenure me with it. It scared the daylights out of me to do that, but I felt I had to do it some time instead of the usual fight or flight from PTSD I've done my whole life.
I am so grateful to you here at DS PTSD, truly happy and thankful.

Due to my increased paranoia, anxiety, and a panic attack over the weekend, my psychiatrist has put me back in a full dose of Zyprexa until further notice. Every time I think I'm getting ahead something happens and it's back to square one. I knew he was gonna do this but I can't help feeling disappointed. It is what it is.

She was also of the belief that I was held to a double standard by the naysayers on the tenure committee. She felt they gave more attention to my students' negative comments than they would have otherwise. That they were prejudiced against me because of PTSD stigma.
We'll never know. After voting me in for tenure, the tenure committee sent me their internal comments, all without names attached. It wasn't unanimous, that's for sure. The ones who voted with me said stuff like "he is stellar." Then the ones who lost voting against me really let their displeasure be known with comments like "grave concern" and "he scares our students." They can always come by and speak their concerns to me openly, but I doubt that they will.
Anyway, that senior colleague who dropped by this morning now is my choice for my PTSD tenure plan. When I submitted that to the tenure committee before its vote I said I would be willing to invite a peer colleague to sit in my class and observe and give me pointers. Since she has PTSD herself, and she's such a respected senior colleague, and she took it upon herself to come by, she's the one.
Thanks EVERYBODY for helping me get tenure while being out of the closet with PTSD. I've not an "activist" type, but it was time for me to try something more than PTSD fight or flight and you made me able to do it. I am so grateful to you, my DS PTSD friends!
