A year ago working full time with a part time weekend job finally got to me with my 40% kidney damage from too much PTSD Seroquel and I collapsed and ended up in the hospital overnight. It was the third time in the last 3 years. I retire in 50 days and won't have to do this next year.
This semester I'm working the same teaching schedule again and today it got to that same point of collapse. I took a sick day off and stayed lying down on the couch all day because I couldn't sit up. I tried to go for my daily walk at the end of the day but I made it to the sidewalk and had to turn around because of gust of wind nearly knocked me over.
I'm really hoping to keep myself out of the hospital tomorrow, thinking that I might recover some strength over the weekend. Being in the hospital isn't really restful for me, since they come in and wake you up every couple of hours all night to check your vitals.
Some daily strength support for recovering at home is truly welcome.

Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.

Lo siento,
I really hope you start feeling better with some good rest & self care. I know what you mean about it being hard getting rest in the hospital in those situations having to be woken up (especially us with PTSD)
I’ll be thinking about you, keeping you in my prayers & light a nice candle for you. Keep reaching out to here when you can & let us know how you’re doing. You are very cared about
Sending strength & support
Gentlest of gentlest hugs <3
So sorry you are feeling so unwell.....

I care about you very much.
Steadying support while you survive your last days of whichever career you are retiring from.
Please rest do it for yourself and us. We need you to be well and safe. I too have to be on bed rest a lot of times. Praying for you. Someone had taught me about me day. A me day is me In my night grown blanket and TV. I would have books, computer, food, water, phone etc near by and only get up to use restroom or to get something out of the kitchen. Muji please have a Me day for us. Please update us how you are doing. Muji I am in bed also and will all day. Proud of you Muij keep propelling onwards
You're going to be retiring before long .. Please take the time that you need to get your strength back.... Big hug and a blessing.... xo
That kind of self care when I've overworked is new to me, and your support for me here helped me try it out for a change rather than just plowing on until I dropped again. Yesterday whenever I got up out of bed to use the restroom I had a dizzy spell and nearly blacked out, but today rest had me so much better I got to walk again. I'm really grateful for your support in taking the common sense route of slowing down rather than pedaling harder. I'm hoping to learn to practice the same kind of self care in retirement, too.
Glad you took gentle care of you and now feel better.
Was worried about you.
Good to hear you felt strong enough to take a walk yesterday!
I pulled it off, though after I was done I collapsed on the couch for a 3 hour hard, deep nap. But I made my money for half my plan ticket. I have another weekend gig this weekend, and if I rise to the occasion I'll earn my plan ticket's other half for flying down to Mexico when school is out in May.
* I also like when you send us pictures of the town or tell us stories of your encounters down there
Big hug <3
