I am at this stage to afraid to go to sleep as I am not able to deal with the nightmares anymore. It is just getting worse as I saw one of my rapist in a shop waiting for our food to be done. I had an emediate panick attack and what is even worse is that the evil asshole had no idea who i was. Ending up leaving without my food and since then the nightmares is killing me. The sleeping tablets that i am on currently does not work and i wake up in the middle of the nighmare and that is even more terrefying as you are half awake and half way in the middle of the gang rape. I have tried so may forms of therapy and nothing seems to be working so I feel like there is no use anymore if this is going to be the rest of my life. My therapist tells me I must except the fact that this is a part of my life and we will work through it that way. She also told me to change the ending of the nightmare and with this i have a huge problem as i have no idea how to do that.
I am just at the end of my rope and see no point in going on like this

I did the dumbest thing today. I charged my earbuds, unplugged the block and put the block in my little bag instead of the earbuds. I wasn't happy about that when I got to the gym. What a dummy!

Ever since I stopped doing therapy because of insurance, I've been feeling that old tense and irritable sense of anxiety and stress. I hate that. I was making so many strides and changes during therapy, my therapist would acknowledge all of my progress and accomplishments, and I miss that reassurance. Today I thought about it, and I made those changes! She would always tell me that I chose to...
If I read it right, your nightmares are recurring and about one of the most vulnerable moments of your life. My initial brain fart here is empowerment in the real world. Several of those co-healers I worked the theories with (similar circumstances) found relief in self-defense and/or assertiveness training. Learning better ways to deal with such people in the real world gave them the material they needed to bring about a different ending in their nightmares.
Just brain-farting. . .
Healing hopes to help you past the fatalistic thoughts. Hope you keep trying. Don't let them "win."
Then last June after 5 years of being unable to take any PTSD meds due to kidney trouble, a good kidney report on my last checkup gave me a chance to take an anti nightmare medication that was new to me: Prazosin. Since for 5 years I had no medication assist for coping with my nightmares, so I didn't take for granted the chance to have one prescribed to me again.
I just saw my doc this past Monday and he renewed my prescription. It really beats even Seroquel, which I got to take in the old days before 5 years ago and the onset of kidney disease with its PTSD med restrictions. I've only taken it since June, but it's really helped my lifelong PTSD nightmare issue, so I felt I should pass the news along. Now I do what Zoe describes PLUS I have that one med--no more, but for just that one I'm grateful. I wanted you to know. Much support to you.
I was on Seroquel for a mood disorder but i have been taken WAY down to only 50-100mg per night for sleep and a pain disorder I suffer from. Benadryl helps me too just to throw in some other suggestions.
I am happy to hear you will be seeing your doctor on Monday and you can go through some things that might be helpful. Much support and peace to you.
