I have some female problems due to a bad assault. One of the biggest problems is that I cant wear tampons anymore but pads don't cut it sometimes. I bleed allot, which makes me almost suicidal at times. I wish they would take it all out, but they say I'm too young. I have allot of 'accidents' during my periods (from bad bleeding) and was wondering if anyone else has this verrrry embarrassing problem and has had any success coping with any part of my story.

Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.

Big hug for you 9y...x
I know that some birth control pills can slow down your period a bit and make it more predictable. Perhaps you could try that.
So sorry you're struggling, dear. Just remember that you have health care rights! Find a doctor who will do what you think is best for you. Fight for your best interest, whether that be pills, the shot, or hysterectomy or whatever other option you want. Your body, your rules..
Soon after I stopped getting the injections, my periods have gotten worse. Not really heavier (oddly) but I get almost flu like symptoms and migraines more often now. I've also heard good and bad things about it too.
Sending gentle hugs! I'm so sorry you have to go through this.
There's also that plastic cup. Inserting it is different than a tampon. You fold it and place it up there instead of it being like... you know.
Any chance you could try to do desensitization? Like, just trying place it there for a second w/o pushing, then slowly working your way up to a little bit? It may take a month, but maybe you can work through it? How about your mother or gyno trying to do it so you can view it like getting a pap smear. And if you avoid those, it could kill you by not being screened for cancer.
I don't say that to scare you, but it's important to get over that fear.
Plus, you can then go swimming whenever! : )
Gentle hugs.
A lot of this comes, I was told, from HMOs and insurers. They got sued a few times by people who had hysterectomies early in life (aka before 50) and then sued b/c they wanted kids and felt their hysterectomy hadn't really been medically necessary---so now docs, HMOs, etc., are reluctant to perform a hysterectomy as an elective surgery.
It may also be that, given your past history, they don't want there to be more damage inflicted to pelvic structures. Much as I despise my uterus, the tissues holding it in place, etc., can weaken or change after a hysterectomy, causing bladder issues, pain, etc., (and lawsuits)....
I can't do the tampon thing either. And as weird as this souns, my GYN said to use a Depends on my heaviest days if I ever had the problem. I know, adult diaper sounds awful, but it does "cover more territory" than a sanitary pad.
And if hormone pills won't work, ask for hormone suppositories (for use vaginally), if they are available for you, to help regulate menstrual bleeding.
One last thought: Do you have hyperplasia of the uterus (that is, too much uterine tissue layered up in there) causing the heavy bleeding? A friend of mine had that due to hormone imbalances, got a D&C---yes, that's the same as the so-called "abortion" procedure---to remove the excess uterine lining, and that combined with low-dose hormone therapy ended her super-heavy-flow issues.
BTW, 9y, nothing embarrassing to me in your question or anyone's replies, it's just facts of life. Medical stuff.
Big soft hugs and purring healing vibes to you, and you're not alone:-)
Hope u find some relief.
Because this, for me has been years ago, I wasn't sure if I should mention this, but at one point I had an *endometrial biopsy* ...and that experience, for me, was just awful, it was a trigger, I was in my late 30's...I was not prepared emotionally for how it made me
feel, and that's why I am mentioning it here,I would not wish that feeling on any woman, past assaults, etc, it was traumatizing!
I ended up having a total abdominal hysterectomy/early 40's/took both ovaries/the surgeon told me after I would never have been able to have children.
I hope you have better options now with a good GYN...that are not so invasive, it is
difficult enough coping with such a heavy flow. I don't mean to be a trigger, but at the time I did not realize...I was young..but I remember, I don't want anyone else to go thru that! Hugs
