Again, I am leaving the spurting of exes to the experts, but my just-a-patient understanding of the most important differences between "running from" and "running to" are organization and encouragement. "Running from" is a disorganized flight with nothing but negative self-image to work with. "Running to" has planning, organization, encouragement and support with plenty of self-esteem to put confidence in your step.
My flight from Austin was still "running from" but. . . My husband and my favoritest sis have been doing their best to blow the wings beneath my wings. They know and support the lifelong passion and dream which carried me here to the river confluence. Well. . . they still give me allot of blank stares when I start spouting geophysics at them, but at least they aren't driving me to help for it any more.
I believe this is my fourth night at the river confluence. The echoes of the MIL/DIL and all the nasty maternal flashbacks are calming, but. . .
Still feeling disoriented and disenfranchised. All my research is back in Austin, including the xeroxed Spanish version of the book published through the Missouri Botanical Garden. Mainstream Ecuador still doesn't respect copyright laws much, if they even have them. They looked at me like I had three heads when I asked where I could buy a legitimate copy.
Sigh. . .
Small steps, big faith and lots of prayer.

I did the dumbest thing today. I charged my earbuds, unplugged the block and put the block in my little bag instead of the earbuds. I wasn't happy about that when I got to the gym. What a dummy!

Ever since I stopped doing therapy because of insurance, I've been feeling that old tense and irritable sense of anxiety and stress. I hate that. I was making so many strides and changes during therapy, my therapist would acknowledge all of my progress and accomplishments, and I miss that reassurance. Today I thought about it, and I made those changes! She would always tell me that I chose to...
Prayers appreciated.
Some of us are just natural wanderers? ? ? In my own wandering urges, there is definitely room for the nature vs. nurture debate, but I don't like that debate any more than I like the "which came first, the chicken or the egg" debate. Some things can't be measured.
He said it wouldn't have happened back in Egypt, nor would it have happened if the trip had been an express ride to Israel. I know it's hard to be lost. But sometimes that's how great things are found. Hope you find your truth out there somewhere, too.
So he went on a journey on his motorcycle because he didn't want to sit still. On the face of it, you could probably say that he was running from, but the experiences he had along the way in his daily journeys allowed him to feel like a human being again and find healing along the journey. So yes, it can be both I think, from can also be to.
But, I might be glad of it for this go 'round. Instead, I found a spots with potential in Metropolis. Methinks I will be moving my base camp in the morning. The spot I am eyeballing is a short walk from the Ohio River side of the confluence.
