It was never about you. None of it was about you. That's the awful truth (imho). Neither the abuse nor the failure to protect you was about you, because your parents were so wrapped up in their own heads that they didn't see you or know you or care about you.
But that in no way means that you're not worthy and important. It just means that your parents weren't well enough or able enough to see you or love you - because they were stuck in their own issues. But you have the power to claim your own worth, and to give yourself the love and care that you deserve.
