i hate this cliche but it’s more than just a river in Egypt.
New counselor. 2nd appointment. Last week she screened me for PTSD. Today first thing we went over the results. It surprised me that she said I have it....I was diagnosed 15 years ago. If that’s not denial I don’t know what is.
I have a good feeling about her.
Thats all for now.

I did the dumbest thing today. I charged my earbuds, unplugged the block and put the block in my little bag instead of the earbuds. I wasn't happy about that when I got to the gym. What a dummy!

Ever since I stopped doing therapy because of insurance, I've been feeling that old tense and irritable sense of anxiety and stress. I hate that. Sigh. . .
I'm thrilled to hear the new counselor is working out. May it lead you healing places.

That denial eventually destroyed my family. My parents got severe PTSD from living in a war zone so long without accepting help. The war came into our house as they began physical fights with each other every week for years that eventually spilled out onto their kids.
In the long term that destroyed the ability for my sister and I both to go on and establish families for ourselves in the next generation when we grew up. We both went on to be divorced.
Denial is a powerful addiction with long term toxic effects, Marah. Glad you have a good feeling about this new therapist to address it.
(( or maybe I'm just a coward))
