Sometimes everyone has problems catching some Zs. Sometimes we're just not that tired and enjoy gazing up at the stars. We might have something on our mind or we just have a bad case of insomnia. What is the most time you have gone without sleep and how did it make you feel? What is the most time you slept? Sleep is an important part of how we feel and it can affect our mood and well-being. A good nights rest can make all the difference in our day.
The most I have gone without sleep was 39 hours. I was coming back from from a 24 hour event and a string of things came about which needed immediate attention. When all was done, I was so tired that my vision was blurred and I felt like dizzy. The most I ever slept was 15 hours. The funny thing is that I still felt tired. Do you feel tired if you oversleep?

I'm feeling down,, and got alot on my mind right now. I got grief going on, on top my depression and anxiety and now I got to worry about somewhere to live since I can't afford living here since my mom passed. So many bad things have happened since my mom passed. One thing after another it seems. Yesterday our fence fell from a storm that hit, had to call someone to prop it up. Thank...

Just wanted to give a thank you to Mid, Arfie, Malibumark, Greeneyes, Mlro, Girlincalif, and Suncloudjd! You all always have such helpful tips and advice, but I always forget to write on my posts when I see you post, lol. I would lose my head if it wasn't attached to my body, lol. Thank you all so much! I'm starting to use my AI app as a sounding board again. I used to use it as that before...
Our university sent us to Mexico as their advance team to set up summer school for some 80 students. We had to interview teachers, interview families willing to host students in their homes, set up classrooms, set up transportation. It was nuts, way too much to put on two grad students.
So we hardly slept for the two weeks before summer school was to start. When we were done, we were so loopy from sleep deprivation that we just dissolved into mad laughter together. A friend took a picture of that moment and I still have it as a reminder never, ever, ever to get that tired again. Ha!
I have to be careful, as sleep deprivation is a huge epilepsy trigger for me. But PTSD isn't agreeing right now. Oh well. I'll sleep when summer ends. Meanwhile, I have less filter between brain and mouth than usual, and cam eout with, "Y'know, since your brother bought an Audi, he's even more of an ass" to my husband. Who was the one to dissolve into hysterical laughter, and HE had 8 straight hours, so who knows?! LOL
the longest i slept was 3 days straight. i was at a mental hospital so the drugs helped but at that point i needed to catch up on sleep and i think feeling safe there allowed me to catch up on missed sleep.
I'm not sure what me longest time sleeping has been.... Probable when I was sick with either Shingles or pneumonia.... Long time sleeping
Thor, I have been pretty sleep deprived, but I can’t imagine staying on such a tight schedule for six months! I can get to the point where I just pass out from exhaustion.
Muji, sound like you two were delirious from not sleeping.!
The worst I have ever been was feeling so dizzy I couldn’t stand up, I passed out and when I saw my GP she said she thought I was severely sleep deprived and ran some tests and she was right! I had severe sleep apnea and quit breathing more than 30 times a minute! It’s now under control so when I sleep I get the rest I need.
Speaking of, I am off to sleep now.
Thor's account of being on watch reminded me, too, of when I had to do 36 hour on -call shifts as a hospital chaplain. Some of those got me delirious from lack of sleep, too. I don't know why that's so common in the health care industry, but it is.
