I know we have been couped up for a long time and things in the world are uncertain. Even so, we need to take time out for ourselves. What do you do for fun or what are your favorite hobbies or both?
Although the word fun has not been in my dialogue lately, I love teaching Rehabilitative Tai Chi and watching my students grow stronger, putting on dog shows with my kennel clubs, volunteer professional radio communications to support public safety, reading and playing Native American flute.

2. Stand up comedy, so I could build up a sense of humor to balance the talk of trauma I'd have to face in my PTSD therapy.
I've kept both up every since. They just intersected, by the way. I listen to comedian Pete Holmes's podcast every week since I became a fan of his through his HBO tv comedy series Crashing. This month he had meditation teacher Jack Kornfield as a guest he interviews on his podcast. It was great.

I've kept up my hobby of being a live stand up comedy fan for 25 years now. I've seen Marc Maron, Sarah Silverman, Bill Burr, and all of today's other great stand up comedians live over the years. It's really fun, funny, and it helps me keep my sense of humor while dealing with PTSD drama/trauma so I can laugh at it. As Reader's Digest says, after all, "laughter is the best medicine." It really is.
